Our cofounder Charlie is now the new owner of Tenacity Craft in Piety Hill, and this next chapter feels pretty familiar to us.

Harvest Fest is running every weekend through Halloween with pumpkins, c***r donuts, c***r flights, seasonal b**r, fall cocktails, pumpkin decorating, food, music and plenty happening around the neighborhood.

But more than that, it’s the same kind of place-making and neighborhood-focused energy Sit On It Detroit has always believed in — taking a space, giving people a reason to gather, and letting the community make it their own.

It’s Detroit fall the way we like it. Kids running around, neighbors becoming friends, cold drinks, hot food and a place that feels like it belongs to the block.

17 days til Spring! Sit On It Detroit

Almost 10 years ago to the day, co-founders Kyle Bartell & Charles Molnar of Sit On It Detroit were featured in Hour Magazine Best of Detroit (photoed on the left) highlighting their company. A decade later you can catch the duo posted on a bench in the back of the Old Miami enjoying WDET's Comedy Show series, "What's so funny about Detroit" (photoed on the right). Looking good fellas!

Install of our first set of signage yesterday at Sanctuary Farms. These custom wayfinding placards will help visitors navigate the grounds. We couldn't be more proud of how these turned out given this was our first attempt at exterior signage.

Excited to say we're expanding our portfolio of products and amenities we can build for your next beautification project! Hit us up! 😁

We're not new to this, we're true to this, and the youth here in the City of Detroit are no strangers to building the change they want to see in their neighborhood.

Photos are from a youth led bench building workshop in Brightmoor in conjunction with Sit On It Detroit .

If you're not familiar with the amazing work Midlife Stockman is doing, prepare to be blown away at the transformation he's made to a pocket park in the Fitzgerald Neighborhood by clearing out the overgrown weeds, tall grass and debris.

One of our SOID benches we built back in 2020 made even made cameo in his viral lot transformation video 47:00 min in. But more importantly, the work he's doing is truly commendable and we hope this will help kick start residents using the lot to gather again.
