Earlier this week, we joined our partners at The Christman Company to celebrate the topping-out of the Wayne State University Health Sciences Research Building.

This milestone marks a significant step forward in the construction of this state-of-the-art facility, which spans approximately 160,000 square-feet and consists of 1,600 tons of steel.

Congratulations to the entire project team on reaching this milestone in the construction of the cutting-edge facility in Detroit!

Ideal Contracting is proud to support the transformative Henry Ford Health Destination Grand project in Detroit, including the structural and miscellaneous steel er****on for the campus’ Shared Services Building and the installation of a new pedestrian bridge spanning West Grand Boulevard.

The bridge, which will connect Henry Ford Hospital’s existing campus to the new 20-story patient tower, spans 425 linear feet and weighs a combined 388,200 pounds (194 tons) across three sections. Earlier this month, our team safely and successfully erected two sections totaling 320 linear feet through extensive planning and coordination.

Congratulations to our team and project partners on this significant milestone. We're honored to contribute to a project that will have a lasting impact on Detroit and the communities it serves.

Christian Perales' journey with Ideal began long before he became a Project Engineer. As a student at Detroit Cristo Rey, Christian joined the school's work-study program with the Ideal Group, gaining valuable experience, mentorship, and exposure to different businesses while growing up in Southwest Detroit.

After earning his degree from Dartmouth College, Christian returned to the community that helped shape him and joined Ideal Contracting full-time. Today, he plays an important role on our project teams while dedicating his time to mentoring students and supporting programs that create opportunities for the next generation.

Christian's story is a powerful example of what can happen when talent, hard work, and community support come together. We're proud to celebrate his accomplishments and the impact he continues to make both within our organization and throughout Southwest Detroit.
