As landscape architect for the project, Confluence is proud to be part of the team bringing this ski-in, ski-out resort and residential destination to life.

Exciting news! Jacobson Plaza at the Falls, a project we were proud to be part of, has received the International Downtown Association’s Downtown Achievement Pinnacle Award.

This honor is a testament to the teamwork behind the project. We’re grateful to have collaborated with CO-OP Architecture, Sioux Falls Parks and Recreation, Sioux Falls Area Community Foundation and Downtown Sioux Falls Inc. to help create a place that brings community, activity, and energy to downtown Sioux Falls.

We’re proud to share that Highland Bridge has received a 2026 National American Society of Landscape Architects Honors Award in Urban Design.

Once the site of the former Ford Assembly Plant, this 122-acre Saint Paul brownfield is becoming a connected neighborhood where public space, ecology, and water work together. Parks, trails, a daylighted creek, and a district-scale stormwater system help transform infrastructure into an amenity for the community.

Confluence is proud to announce that Highland Bridge has received a National ASLA Award in the Urban Design category. The award recognizes the transformation of a 122-acre brownfield in St. Paul, Minnesota, from the former Ford Assembly Plant into a connected, mixed-income neighborhood shaped by public space, ecology, and water. More than 55 acres of parks and gathering spaces, 10 miles of bicycle and pedestrian routes, and a district-scale stormwater system now support a thriving riverfront community.

From an underutilized alley to a vibrant downtown destination, this project is a great example of what thoughtful public-space design can do for a community.

Confluence partnered with City of Maryville, Missouri, to transform a former vehicular alley into a welcoming pedestrian connector and community gathering place. What began as a master plan vision became reality with federal funding, resulting in a linear park that helps connect people, support downtown activity, and create a new place to gather.

We’re proud to celebrate the City of Maryville and this meaningful addition to its downtown.

We’re honored to see our work on the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library featured by InForum.

As Landscape Architect of Record, Confluence helped shape an experience where the Badlands are not simply the setting. They are part of the museum itself. From the winding boardwalk and native plant communities to the expansive living roof, every element was designed to connect visitors with the landscape that inspired Theodore Roosevelt’s conservation legacy.

Thank you to the many partners, including Snøhetta, JLG Architects, and JE Dunn Construction Company, as well as collaborators and community members who helped bring this extraordinary North Dakota project to life.

The Warehouse District is ready for its next act.

Last Thursday, the Minneapolis Renaissance Coalition released the Downtown Warehouse District Vision Plan, a roadmap for a more vibrant, walkable, and connected downtown neighborhood.

Confluence was proud to help shape the vision alongside the Minneapolis Renaissance Coalition and Shinebox. Building on the district’s historic character, music, sports, and arts culture, the plan creates more opportunities to gather, explore, and stay awhile.

Because downtown needs more than places to go. It needs places people want to be.

Demo is complete. Now, St. Joe’s next chapter starts to take shape.

With the existing structure cleared, the site is ready for what comes next: a new facility designed to serve the St. Joseph Missouri Parks, Recreation, and Civic Facilities community for years to come.

Confluence is proud to lead this project alongside an exceptional team: SFS Architecture and Waters Edge Aquatic Design. Together, we’re helping turn a big community vision into a place that will create new opportunities, strengthen connections, and give St. Joe even more reason to gather, grow, and take pride in what’s ahead.

The old building made way. The future is moving in. 👏

Demolition is complete at Hyde Park’s pool house for the new Hyde Park aquatic facility!
Once the project is complete, guests will be greeted with a renovated pool house equipped with restrooms, concessions, and a year-round rental room. The pool itself will feature a zero-depth entry, wading area, sun shelf with in-water seating, and an in-water play structure. Guests will also have access to a picnic area and shaded seating.
This $4,320,000.00 project, funded by the CIP and the parks sales tax, is expected to be completed by May of 2027.

A park project. A STEAM Lab. A whole lot of big ideas.

Anthony Malone, alongside our project partners KC Water and Black & Veatch, spent time with students at Brookside Charter School, where they built a 3D model of the proposed green infrastructure for Daniel Morgan Boone Park, located right across the street.

Along the way, students got an inside look at careers in engineering, landscape architecture, green infrastructure, and community design from the people doing the work every day. Then they turned that insight into something real: a model that will be used in upcoming community meetings.

That’s the good stuff. Real-world learning. Young people shaping the conversation. A community project made easier to see, understand, and rally around.

The next generation is already building what’s next. Let’s go.
