Below are some of the job description
Core Structural Services is currently seeking a Construction Project Engineer. The candidate will be responsible for
assisting the Project Manager and Project Team with project start up, documentation, contracts and purchase orders,
scheduling, construction supervision, and project closeout. In order to be successful, this candidate should feel
comfortable taking on many tasks that require various skills, and appropriately prioritizing those tasks' completion.
Responsibilities
· Set up and maintain a jobsite office, install proper site signage and postings, and direct installation of building
and site protection as required
· Set up and maintain all jobsite records, including project directory, subcontractor directory, submittal logs, RFI
logs, subcontractor correspondence
· Maintain all of the onsite construction documents, including plans, specifications, shop drawings, as- built
drawings and associated revisions
· Fill out and maintain daily reports when directed
· Make updates to as-built drawings, as directed
· Assist in field measuring for millwork, glass and doors, and other field measurements as required
· Participate in site inspections to ensure expectations for quality and workmanship are met
· Take responsibility for and manage specific construction tasks assigned to them
· Basic material take-offs, place supplier orders, and receive and inventory delivery of materials
· Read and interpret basic coordination drawings
· Be able to interpret basic tests and reports (air balance, soils report, concrete test)
· Set up and run a subcontractor foremen’s meeting when directed by the Superintendent
· Understand cost implications and consequences associated with specific construction tasks at various stages
of a project
· Make periodic updates to the project schedule as directed
· Assist in the inspection process
· Assist in the implementation of Core Structural Services corporate safety program and apply it on the jobsite
· Conduct weekly safety meetings and toolbox talks and all required safety reports where directed
Qualifications and Skills
· High school diploma required, military experience or four-year degree from an accredited university within the
construction, engineering, or business concentrations preferred. Previous experience on commercial job sites
strongly preferred
· Ability to learn sector/project-specific software systems including but not limited to Microsoft Office suite (ex.
Project, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Sage 100, and Procore
· Communicate clearly, concisely, and professionally, with a strong focus on audience appropriate business
writing and verbal skills

Project Superintendent

Position Reports to: Director of Field Operations & Managers

Position Directly Supervises: Foremen, Field Labor

The Project Superintendent is the contractor's representative at a construction site. The superintendent directs and coordinates the activities of the company’s direct labor and subcontractors on-site. The superintendent ensures that the work progresses according to schedule, that material and equipment are delivered to the site on time, and that the activities of the various workers do not interfere with one another. The superintendent supervises all these activities by communicating with and directing the foremen and craft workers. The superintendent must have a good understanding of construction methods, scheduling, and blueprint reading. Demonstrated leadership ability is essential.

Position Responsibilities & Duties:

• Assure Safety Awareness and Implement the Safety Program.
• Assist with pre-construction services, as required
• Accept responsibility for safety pre-planning
• Provides input for preparation of construction schedule.
• Prepare the short-term interval schedule on a weekly basis as needed.
• Communicate and enforce OSHA and company safety policies and practices, including inspection and weekly safety meeting.
• Ensure that work complies with plans and specification of project.
• Perform project layout.
• Maintain and update accurate field documentation and maintain all job site records.
• Coordinate scheduled activity with subcontractors.
• Manage all construction work and comply with company employment policies and practices.
• Assist efforts to promote services and acquire work.
• Responsible for care and maintenance of company tools and equipment on site.
• Assist in controlling job site costs.
• Individual must be able to communicate and interact professionally with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and employees.
• Schedules and coordinates activities of all subcontractors/vendors.
• Schedules routing and delivery of materials to jobsite.
• Maintains a project daily log book of events.
• Available for occasional after-hours calls to deal with delays, bad weather, or emergencies at the jobsite.
The successful candidate must have a minimum of 10 years of experience in the construction industry with strong emphasis in concrete construction. This individual must be a Results-Oriented Team Leader with Excellent Verbal and Written Communication skills. Computer skills are a plus. This person must have the ability to: work outside all year in all types of weather, remain CPR and First Aid Certified at all times, and to be OSHA trained. The right candidate will bring a combination of Competent Decision Making Experience, Superior Performance, Dedication, and Positive Attitude to an already successful team.
