A burst washing machine hose can put water on a basement floor fast, and most people never look at theirs.

Take 30 seconds this weekend. Check the hoses behind your washer for bulges, cracks, rust or drips at the connections. If anything looks worn, don’t wait for it to fail. Call (515) 657-6475 and we’ll take a look.

Heavy rain doesn’t wait for a good time. If your basement or crawl space has ever taken on water, or you’re not sure your sump pump would hold up, we put together a quick guide.

It covers the 60-second bucket test, the three things that fail quietly, and when to call. 👉 https://lazerhomeservices.com/category/sump-pump/

Water heaters don’t fail at a convenient time. If yours is 10+ years old, takes longer to heat, or rumbles when it runs, it’s worth a look before the cold sets in.

Des Moines' first frost usually shows up around mid-October. Before it does, someone should be looking at what's under your house.

Crawl spaces are where exposed water lines freeze first. Our techs check insulation, pipe wrap and heat tape now, so a cold snap doesn't turn into a burst-pipe call in January.

Want us to take a look? Call or text (515) 657-6475.

Flood watch starts tonight for the Des Moines area. If your sump pump hasn't run since spring, now's the time to check it — not during the storm.

60-second test: pour a bucket of water into the pit. If it doesn't kick on and drain within a few seconds, don't wait until your basement finds out the hard way.

A few other quick checks:
✅ Battery backup charged? (Storms = power outages)
✅ Discharge line clear and draining away from the foundation?
✅ Pump actually reaches the bottom of the pit?

If anything's off, call us today - 515-657-6475. We'd rather come out today than pull you out of a flooded basement Wednesday.
