Is your A/C frozen up? Check your filter first!

We’ve been seeing a lot of frozen air conditioners lately, and one of the most common causes is a dirty air filter. When airflow is restricted, the evaporator coil can freeze up and the system can stop cooling properly.

Before calling for service, try this first:
-Check and replace your air filter if it’s dirty
-Turn your thermostat from COOL to OFF
-Set the fan to ON and let it run to help thaw the system

In many cases, this alone may solve the issue once the system fully thaws.

Doing this before your appointment can also save time and make it easier for our techs to diagnose the problem if further service is needed.

Warmer weather is finally rolling in

That means it’s time to start thinking about getting everything ready for spring and summer. A lot of people are out laying seed, cleaning up the yard, and getting things looking right again after winter…

Don’t forget about your AC too!
Now’s the perfect time to:
• Change your furnace filter
• Clear debris/leaves away from your outdoor unit
• Give the condenser a quick rinse with the hose
• Test your AC before the real heat hits

Furnace Not Heating? Try These First!

Before calling for service, here are a few common issues homeowners can safely check — and there are tons of YouTube tutorials that walk through these step-by-step if you’re a hands-on type.

Thermostat
Make sure it’s set to HEAT, not cool or fan only. Turn it up a few degrees above room temp. Replace batteries if applicable.

Furnace filter
A dirty filter is one of the most common causes of furnaces shutting down. If it’s clogged, replace it. Easy fix.

Power switch & breaker
Check the furnace power switch (looks like a light switch) and your breaker panel for a tripped breaker.

Flame sensor
If your furnace lights but shuts off after a few seconds, the flame sensor is often dirty.
👉 Search YouTube for: “clean furnace flame sensor”
There are dozens of simple tutorials showing how to remove it, gently clean it, and reinstall.

Inducer motor pressure port / hose
On colder days, the pressure switch port or rubber hose can plug with moisture or debris, causing the furnace not to stay running.
👉 Search YouTube for: “furnace pressure switch hose cleaning” or “inducer port blockage furnace”
Many homeowners are surprised how common (and fixable) this is.

Important safety note:
Always shut off power to the furnace before attempting any cleaning. If something doesn’t look right, stop and call a professional.

Call a pro if:
The furnace keeps short-cycling
You smell gas or burning odors (turn it off immediately)
DIY checks don’t solve the issue
