Not every part of a property needs the same kind of fence.

And this project is a great example of how different fencing styles can work together.

Our fencing crew installed two styles throughout this beautiful property:

🔹 2-rail ranch fencing — a shorter, open design that defines the property while preserving those beautiful views.

🔹 6' decorative privacy fencing with aluminum spindles — offering more privacy and separation while adding a decorative touch.

Together, they complement the home, landscaping and outdoor living spaces without making the entire property feel closed in.

It's a great reminder that fencing isn't always just about privacy or security. It's also about finding the right design for the way you use your property.

Sometimes it’s the details that completely change the look.

The concrete is finished at our Clive pool project, and those Charcoal Old Granite accent borders are EVERYTHING.

We’ve had more homeowners interested in incorporating accent borders into their own projects after seeing them on some of our recent work — and this is a pretty good example of why.

Here, the darker Charcoal Old Granite creates contrast against the Winter Beige Old Granite stamped concrete, defining the pool deck and breaking up the larger areas of concrete throughout the backyard.

It’s a detail that was planned from the beginning, and now that the concrete is finished, you can really see the difference it makes.

A little more privacy can completely change the way you use your backyard.

Whether it’s creating a space for kids and pets, adding privacy from neighboring properties or putting the finishing touch around a pool, the right fence can make a backyard feel a lot more like your own.

A lot can happen in a week.

Our crew has spent this last week in downtown Des Moines working on a large parking lot repair project — and by the time it is finished, will be approximately 550–600 tons of asphalt that has gone down.

The work focused on areas of the parking lot that had deteriorated. Those sections were milled down approximately 2 inches, removing the damaged asphalt, then paved with new material and restriped where necessary.

It’s a good example of why an aging parking lot doesn’t always mean starting over. Sometimes the right solution is identifying the areas that need attention and repairing them properly.

And a project of this size takes coordination. We worked with several companies we regularly partner with on larger jobs, including InRoads for asphalt, American Milling & Paving LLC for milling, and Jesse’s Trucking, Beecher Trucking and K&K Services for trucking support.

A full week, a lot of moving pieces and nearly 600 tons later — another downtown Des Moines project working towards completion.
