What actually matters when hiring a wallpaper installer in Denver or Boulder?
Beautiful wallpaper can make a room. But the quality of the installation starts long before the first strip goes up.
The wall itself matters.
A professional installation should consider the substrate, surface condition, preparation, primer, adhesive, wallcovering, pattern layout, application, and drying conditions as one complete system.
That becomes especially important with:
• Grasscloth and natural fibers
• Silk and delicate wallcoverings
• Metallic and specialty papers
• Murals and large pattern repeats
• Older plaster or repaired drywall
• Textured or previously wallpapered walls
Two installers can look at the same room and provide very different prices because they may not be including the same preparation or installation scope.
Before hiring, ask:
What preparation is included?
Which primer and adhesive are being specified?
How will the pattern be laid out?
How will existing finishes be protected?
What happens if the wallcovering reveals an underlying problem?
At DAECO Painting Company, we've been working on fine residential interiors in Colorado since 2003. Our approach to wallpaper installation starts with the surface and considers the wallcovering as part of the finished room—especially when it meets painted, lacquered, or high-gloss architectural finishes.
We put together a detailed Denver & Boulder guide covering costs, preparation, materials, vetting an installer, and when professional installation makes sense.

The paper is only part of the finished wall. The surface underneath is where the installation begins.
