Sturgeon Electric has earned a 2026 National Electrical Contractors Association - NECA Project Excellence Award for our work on Alaska’s Glenn Highway, delivering critical lighting and traffic signal improvements along a 4.5-mile corridor.

From expanding a two-lane highway to four lanes to navigating complex underground utilities and Alaska’s short construction season, our team brought innovation, precision, and a commitment to safety to every phase of the project.

Energized work must be performed correctly to avoid serious injuries.

This is why we developed the ESAFE program, a nationally recognized, energized training and certification program for our inside electrical employees. We handpick candidates who have shown promise in the field to earn this credential and be trusted with energized electrical work.

They are taught the required principles, regulations, and codes related to energized work over two modules, before proving their competency through a hands-on evaluation in our simulation lab.

During our most recent ESAFE training, 15 Sturgeon Electric employees became certified or recertified.

Clearing the way for some of Colorado’s biggest moves.

When large machinery needs to travel through Colorado by truck, we often assist with raising traffic signals so the load can be transported safely.

Recently, we supported the delivery of a huge gas turbine weighing more than 1 million lbs. to a power plant. The transport through Larimer and Weld counties took place in multiple phases from February through April.
