It’s impossible to eradicate invasive species—they’re here to stay. And that makes it more important than ever to plant native. Everyone can help support monarchs and protect our native species simply by growing the plants that have always belonged here. Imagine what could happen if our homes, businesses, schools, parks, and community spaces all became part of the solution. Collectively, the places where we live could become one of the greatest conservation efforts of our time.

We’re now booking for fall planting season. If you’re ready to plant a native garden, now is a great time to get started. Appointment spots are limited, so schedule yours today using the link in our bio.

Fall is the best time to plant a native garden—you won’t change my mind about that.

If you plant this fall, when spring finally arrives, your plants have already had months to settle in and establish their roots. Instead of spending the first weeks of spring getting established, they’re ready to put their energy into growing, filling out, and blooming.

So if you’ve been thinking about starting a native garden, this is your sign to get planting. Come spring, you’ll be so glad you did.

We’re now booking for fall planting season. If you’re ready to plant a native garden, now is a great time to get started. Appointment spots are limited, so schedule yours today using the link in our bio.

Fall planting season is here, and High-Five Farms opens for the season this Saturday, September 12.

Cooler air and warm soil make fall an excellent time to plant many native perennials, grasses, sedges, shrubs and trees. Planting now gives roots time to begin establishing before winter and prepares plants for growth next spring.

See what’s available and order online for pickup, or schedule a nursery shopping visit to select plants in person.

High-Five Farms is an appointment-only, pickup-only native plant nursery in Denver, Pennsylvania.

✨✨✨LIMITED RELEASE✨✨✨

Echinacea laevigata (Smooth Purple Coneflower)

We are very excited about this species! It is listed as Federally threatened. In PA, this species is listed as extirpated. It existed here at one time, but there are no longer any remaining wild populations. We think we should bring it back! This species will readily hybridize with other coneflower species, which makes it incredibly difficult to find pure, straight species. Our plants are the real deal!

We will be releasing just 5 plants and we will be limiting it to one plant per customer to spread the love. If you would like to snag one of them, head over to our website, add one to your cart, check out and schedule a time to pick it up.

We have lots of other new species available for the fall planting season. Some species are already selling fast, so if you see something you want, placing an online order will reserve the plants for you.

As we grow this nursery, it’s important to us to grow as many truly local ecotypes as possible—even harvesting seed from trusted sources right here in Lancaster County. Here’s why local ecotypes matter…

📣📣Exciting News Everyone!!📣📣
🌎Our website has gotten a MAJOR make-over!! Our head of IT (aka Joe 😆)has been working tirelessly behind the scenes on this revamp. Lots of late nights, early mornings and every spare moment has gone into it. Over a year of hard work and dedication is finally realized!
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 A HUGE thank you to Joe for the help in making this dream a reality!

✨Some of the new features I am stoked about:✨
🌱It is so easy to find plants that will thrive in your space, just click on the tile for your site conditions and it will filter suitable plants for you, no more sifting through plants to find what will work in your space. Right plant, right place!!
✅Just by checking some boxes, you can also now filter multiple attributes at once, such as bloom month, bloom color, mature height, sun and soil conditions to really dial in suitable plants!
🌿 Our plant "cards" now show you important info like sun and soil conditions, bloom time, stock quantity and if we have more than one size in stock, as well as highlighting low stock!
📦You can hide out of stock plants just by clicking the "Hide sold out plants" box so you will only be able to see what we currently have in stock at any given time!
🔀Using the "Sort by" drop down menu you now have the ability to sort by botanical name, common name, bloom time, mature height or recently added
🛒Pre-ordering online also just got a lot easier, you can choose from the options with just a click of a button, no more clunky drop-downs!! This is a good option to ensure that the plants you want do not sell out before you have a chance to get here. You can choose to pay in advance or pay at pickup and we will prepare your order and have it ready to go!

👀We would love for you to take a peek and let us know what you think!

I love aggressive natives! They are perfect for those large spaces that you want to fill quickly, or areas where you are combating invasive species. Right plant, right place!

Lancaster is our home, and it’s a great honor to leave this land more diverse than we found it.

Before colonization, Pennsylvania was a vast expanse of woodlands, wetlands, meadows, and other ecosystems teeming with wildlife.

It’s difficult to comprehend the abundance and diversity that once existed here, but historical records point to a landscape filled with an incredible variety of life.

What made all that diversity possible? Native plants and trees—the foundation of the ecosystems our wildlife still depend on today.

Nothing will ever replace the diversity that was lost, but we can support or ecosystems, simply by planting more native plants in our gardens. This can help restore the native seed bank in our soils, paving the way for more diversity for future generations

Native plants can be notoriously difficult to source, especially truly local ecotypes that are grown without pesticides. We're here to change that. Our goal is to help gardeners and conservationists establish healthy, diverse, and thriving ecosystems. Ready to get started? Schedule an appointment at High-Five Farms using the link in our bio.

We didn’t set out thinking, “let’s start a nursery.” We were trying to restore a place thoughtfully, leave it better than we found it, and kept running into the same problem: the native plants we wanted weren’t always easy to find with the provenance and growing practices we cared about. Growing our own became the practical answer, and sharing them became something bigger. High-Five Farms is for people who believe that leaving a place better than we found it is always worth the effort.
