Thank you to HCC and the Airport Minority Advisory Council Denver Chapter for bringing Colorado’s aviation community together for an excellent September GMM. Sky Blue Builders was pleased to sponsor the evening and join industry colleagues for the conversation.

The program offered a forward-looking conversation about what it will take to meet the evolving needs of Colorado’s aviation industry, including strong infrastructure, a skilled workforce and greater collaboration across airports, airlines, public agencies and the construction industry.

Thank you to moderator Indhira Figuereo Blaney and panelists Dave LaPorte, Jim Starling, Derek Hoffine, Mark Adams and David Ulane for sharing their perspectives—and thanks to the Sky Blue Builders team members who joined us for the evening.

A great day for our employee-owners!

Last week, our team gathered at the Sky Blue Builders warehouse for our second annual ESOP Statement Day. We reviewed our project pipeline, looked ahead at where the company is going and talked about how the work we do together helps build long-term value.

Each employee-owner also received an individual ESOP statement and learned more about what the numbers mean, how shares are valued and how employee ownership can contribute to their future.

We had some fun discovering a few surprising facts about our fellow employee-owners playing Sky Blue bingo, enjoyed tacos from the Chivis Tacos food truck and even squeezed in a quick round of hacky sack! 🦶⚽

Statement Day is a great opportunity to learn, connect and celebrate what we are building together as a 100% employee-owned company.

Mowa Haile has been named a winner of the Denver Business Journal’s 2026 Most Admired CEO Award.

The recognition honors leaders whose impact extends beyond company performance to civic engagement, career achievement and meaningful change in the community.

Under Mowa’s leadership, and with the dedication of an incredible team, Sky Blue Builders has grown from a two-person operation into a 100% employee-owned company trusted by major public agencies and private-sector clients throughout Colorado. That continued growth is also reflected in DBJ’s latest ranking of Denver’s largest private companies, where Sky Blue climbed 24 positions, from No. 78 to No. 54.

Mowa’s leadership is grounded in humility, integrity and a belief that success should be shared, not accumulated. That philosophy is reflected in the opportunities Sky Blue creates for its employee-owners, the relationships we build with clients and partners, and Mowa’s extensive service throughout the Denver community.

Congratulations, Mowa, on this well-deserved recognition.
