Last Thursday, Sky Blue Builders’ ESOP Committee hosted another employee site walk, this time at the historic McNichols Civic Center Building in Denver’s Civic Center Park.

Employee-owners toured the project and learned more about the structural repair work our team is delivering for the City and County of Denver Government, including concrete beam and floor repairs, plumbing upgrades, rooftop fall protection, and roof access improvements.

Originally constructed as a Carnegie Library more than a century ago, McNichols is an iconic Denver landmark and today serves as a hub for arts, culture, and community events. Working in a historic building like McNichols requires careful coordination around existing conditions while preserving the character of this Denver landmark.

Site walks like these give our employee-owners a firsthand look at the work happening across Sky Blue Builders and the expertise our teams bring to every project.

We’re excited to share that Mowa Haile, CEO of Sky Blue Builders and Chair of the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, has been selected to serve on the Governor’s Competitiveness Council.

The newly formed Council will bring perspectives from across the state to examine what Colorado needs to remain a great place to build businesses, create jobs, attract talent and investment, and expand opportunity.

For Mowa, the work is a natural extension of his commitment to Colorado’s business community and his belief in bringing people together to tackle the issues that will define our state’s future.

A well-deserved honor for Shannon Montour! Our Chief Strategy & Growth Officer has been named one of the Colorado Women's Chamber of Commerce’s 2026 Top 25 Most Powerful Women in Business.

Shannon is a big-picture thinker, entrepreneur, mentor, and leader who brings tremendous energy and purpose to everything she takes on. At Sky Blue, she is helping shape our strategy and growth while continually looking for new opportunities for our company, our people, and the communities we serve.

We're excited to spotlight Jacob Geraci, Project Manager, who has been an integral part of the Sky Blue Builders team for the past five years. Currently leading our East Colfax BRT project, Jacob works closely with clients, partners, and project teams to guide complex projects from planning through delivery while fostering strong relationships every step of the way.

In addition to leading projects, Jacob serves as an employee-elected member of the Sky Blue Builders Board of Directors, where he helps shape the company's strategic direction and ensure the voices of our employee-owners are reflected in key decisions. His leadership both in the field and within our ESOP reflects the collaborative culture that defines Sky Blue Builders.

When he's not at work, Jacob enjoys weightlifting, hiking, snowboarding, building high-performance cars, racing, and spending time with his pup.
