A drain snake punches a hole through a clog. Hydro jetting cleans the pipe walls. 🚿🔧

That difference is why a drain that "cleared" last week is slow again this week.

Quick tell:
✅ One sink or tub slow → often a local clog (a cable can help)
✅ Same spot keeps clogging every few days → buildup is still on the walls
✅ Kitchen + bath + floor drain acting up together → look at the main line (camera first)

Denver-area lines collect grease, soap scum, and sometimes tree roots. A cable opens a path. High-pressure water scours the inside so the line stays clear longer.

Slow drain that keeps coming back?

Employee Spotlight: Nathan Padilla, Owner 🔧

28 years in the trade. 14 years running Prime.

Nathan started Prime for the same reason a lot of tradespeople start out on their own: to pay the bills and put food on the table for his family. Plenty of long days in the van came with that.

Over the years Prime has grown into something bigger. Today Nathan's focus is on giving every customer exceptional service, building a brand Denver homeowners can trust, and running a business strong enough to support many families, not just his own.

That starts with our team. Next time you see a Prime van in your neighborhood, you'll find friendly technicians who show up ready to explain what's going on and treat your home with respect.

Thank you for trusting us with your homes. Prime is here to help.

A lot of Denver homes don't heat the air. They heat water. 💧🔥

This is a real Prime hydronic (hot-water) install: a Lochinvar Noble boiler on the left, copper piping, and an Uponor radiant manifold sending warm water through those PEX loops under the floor.

Quick way to tell what you have:
✅ Radiators, baseboards, or warm floors → usually steam or hot-water boiler heat
✅ Big metal ducts and floor/ceiling registers → forced-air (furnace)
✅ A wall-hung unit with small pumps and a manifold like this → modern hydronic

Three no-tools checks worth a p*ek this week:
1️⃣ Pressure gauge near the boiler — note where it sits once heat has been running
2️⃣ Any drips or white/green crust on fittings or under tanks
3️⃣ Floors or rooms that stay cold while others are warm — that can be air in a loop, a zone valve, or a circulator that needs a look

Steam and hot-water boilers are our specialty.

Heat acting uneven, or just want eyes on it before the next cold snap?

Sunday football, a full house, and... a slow kitchen drain. 🏈🚰

A few easy habits before guests show up:
✅ Grease goes in the trash, never down the sink (it hardens in the pipe)
✅ Run cold water with the disposal, and feed it a little at a time
✅ Skip "flushable" wipes. They don't break down like paper does
✅ If more than one drain gurgles or backs up at once, it's likely the main line, not just one clog

Gurgling, slow drains, or a backup that keeps coming back? Our techs can camera-inspect and clear the line so it stays clear.

Ever looked at the wall next to a boiler and wondered what all of it does? 🔧

This is a hot-water (hydronic) heating setup from a recent Prime job. Here's the quick tour:

🔥 The white Navien on the wall is the boiler. It heats water, not air.
⚪ The small white tank on the left is the expansion tank. Hot water takes up more room than cold water, and this tank gives it somewhere to go.
⚫ The two black pumps in the middle are circulators. They keep the hot water moving out to the house and back.
🌡️ The manifold on the right sends warm water out through those white tubes to the floors, then brings it back to be heated again.

Three things worth a quick look this fall, no tools needed:
1️⃣ The pressure gauge near the boiler. Notice where the needle sits once the heat has been running, so you can tell if it starts drifting.
2️⃣ Drips, or crusty white or green spots on fittings or under the tanks.
3️⃣ The boiler's display. If it shows an error code, snap a photo before you reset anything. It helps whoever comes out to look at it.

Hot-water heat acting up, or just want a second set of eyes on it before the cold settles in?

"Flushable" wipes... aren't. 🚽

Here's one of our techs clearing a toilet that wouldn't stay clear. It's one of the most common calls we get, and a lot of the time the culprit is a wipe that said "flushable" right on the package.

Toilet paper breaks apart in water within seconds. Most wipes don't. They hang together, snag on rough spots in older pipes, and grab grease and hair as they go. Pretty soon you've got a plug.

The easy rule: only flush the 3 P's — p*e, poo, and (toilet) paper. Everything else goes in the trash, including:
🧻 "Flushable" and baby wipes
🦷 Floss
🩹 Cotton swabs, cotton balls, and bandages
🧴 Paper towels and tissues

And one tip worth knowing: if the toilet backs up AND the tub, shower, or floor drain gurgles or backs up too, it's probably not just the toilet. That points to the main sewer line, and plunging harder won't fix it.

Count the red pumps 👇

This is a hot-water (hydronic) boiler room from a Denver job: two high-efficiency boilers, an indirect tank for the home's hot water, and a row of little red circulator pumps.

Each of those pumps pushes hot water to its own part of the building. That's a "zone." It's why one room can be toasty while another stays cool, and why a cold bedroom isn't always a boiler problem.

If a room won't warm up this fall, the usual suspects are:
🔴 A circulator pump that's stuck or tired
💨 Air trapped in the line (gurgling or a cold top on a baseboard or radiator)
🌡️ A thermostat or zone valve that isn't calling for heat
🧭 System pressure that drifts low

Steam and hot-water systems keep plenty of Denver homes and buildings warm, and most of these fixes are small when they get caught early.

Meet the real boss of the house 🐶

We see a lot of Denver homes every week — and almost every one of them has a furry supervisor waiting at the door when we show up.

This little one is living proof that the best jobs aren't just about pipes and boilers. They're about making sure the people (and pets) who live there are comfortable.

Got a pup, a cat, or a goldfish who runs the place? Drop a pic in the comments. We love meeting the whole family.
