Once framing is complete, the next step is to ensure the entire basement is properly planned and prepped for what comes next.

We go through the space and mark out the future locations for cabinets, dishwashers, refrigerators, and any other appliances or features the homeowner wants included.

We also identify what type of flooring will be installed in each area, whether that’s LVP, carpet, or gym flooring.

When LVP is being installed, floor prep is especially important. We grind down the concrete, apply primer, and pour self leveling material where needed to create a smooth, level surface before the flooring goes in.

A lot of the work that makes a project run smoothly happens long before the finished materials are installed. Planning and prepping everything early helps us avoid problems later and keeps the entire build moving in the right direction.

Today we’re featuring another finished basement in the Montaine neighborhood of Castle Rock, Colorado.

This 1,200 square foot basement turned into the perfect space for relaxing by the fireplace, entertaining friends, or getting the whole family together.

The heart of the basement is the large open entertainment area, featuring an electric fireplace surrounded by acoustic paneling that gives the space a clean, custom look. Directly across from it is the wet bar, positioned perfectly to connect with the main living area. We especially love how the wet bar's colors and finishes came together.

This basement also includes a bedroom, a full bathroom, and an additional smaller room that can be used as a home office, nursery, or whatever fits the homeowners’ needs.

We love how comfortable and connected this entire basement feels, and we’re really happy with how everything came together.

Planning your basement ceilings and soffits is more important than you might think.

Before framing, we walk every project and carefully map out the best placement and design for each ceiling and soffit. The goal is to work around the home’s mechanicals while keeping the finished ceiling clean, intentional, and connected throughout the space.

We don’t want soffits to feel randomly placed or become a distraction. Every drop, transition, and ceiling height should have a purpose and work with the overall layout of the basement.

When they’re planned correctly, ceilings and soffits become part of the design rather than something you have to work around.

Our goal is always to make your finished basement feel like a natural extension of the rest of your home.

Happy Friday! Today we’re featuring another finished basement, this time in the Montaine neighborhood of Castle Rock, Colorado.

We love how this basement came together, and the centerpiece of the entire space is definitely the custom home theater.

During the framing stage, we built the theater specifically around the seating layout, creating elevated platforms that give it the true theater style experience. To make the space even more unique, we added a Murphy bookshelf door that hides the entrance to the theater and gives it a custom hidden-room feel.

The basement also features a dedicated home office with double glass doors and a glass wall. This helps bring more natural light into the office while keeping it visually connected to the main living area.

There’s also a full bathroom and a bedroom designed specifically for the grandkids. We made use of the space underneath the stairs by turning it into a custom play area, opening up the bedroom while giving the kids a fun and unique space of their own.

The main open area was designed to feel like a natural extension of the rest of the home. A custom wet bar and built in entertainment center with acoustic paneling give the space a strong focal point while making it perfect for relaxing and entertaining.

A lot of planning, design, and craftsmanship went into bringing every part of this basement together, and we’re extremely proud of how it turned out.

Happy Friday! We’re back with another basement finish, this time in the Cielo at Allison Ranch neighborhood in Parker, Colorado.

There’s a lot packed into this 2,195-square-foot basement, but the centerpiece is definitely the fully custom trimmed wet bar. A lot of thought, planning, and attention to detail went into bringing this design to life, and we love how it anchors the entire space.

The basement also features a dedicated home office, home gym, full bathroom, living room, and plenty of storage.

Even with all of these different spaces, the basement still feels open, connected, and comfortable making it a great place to entertain friends and family while still having plenty of functional space for everyday life.

We’re extremely happy with how this one came together!

This custom basement finish is located in Aurora, Colorado’s Southshore neighborhood.

One of the biggest features is the custom golf simulator, where we had to dig the floor down about a foot to create enough clearance for a full golf swing.

The basement also includes a home gym, one bedroom, one bathroom, a custom wet bar, and a custom entertainment center with stone surrounding the fireplace. Open stairs help connect the basement to the rest of the home, with a hidden Murphy door tucked underneath the stairs and custom cabinetry throughout the open space for additional storage.

Every part of this basement was designed to make the space more functional while still feeling open, comfortable, and connected.
