As a professional specializing in Universal Design, Environmental Psychology, and Architecture, I've dedicated my career to understanding and implementing spaces that not only accommodate, but also enhance human potential. At JARZ Design Studio, we are pioneering a movement that transcends traditional design paradigms, embedding Universal Design principles into the very fabric of everyday life.

Universal Design is not just a framework; it's a commitment to inclusivity, accessibility, and functionality. Giving Tuesday is a day that encourages people to give back in whatever ways they can. It presents nonprofit organizations with the chance to raise even more money than they would on an average day of giving, which is why many organizations create special campaigns to participate in this day of giving.

Victoria and Bill Strong, of Santa Barbara, are building the first fully inclusive playground in Santa Barbara so all children have the opportunity to just be one of the kids. Gwendolyn Strong Foundation also continues to offer practical family support for the overwhelming expenses of life with a disability, helping give families greater independence. And they work to inspire courage through their brand, NEVER GIVE UP. We ALL have a reason to dig deep, do hard things, and live with a greater purpose. What is your reason to NEVER GIVE UP? I encourage you to look up their story in further detail. Having a family member on the spectrum and being neurodiverse myself, this family and their passion for inclusivity has a special spot in my heart.

Neurodiversity is the range of differences between people's brain function and personality traits. Up to 20% of us are considered neurodivergent. The other 80% are known as neurotypical. Within these groups, there's a whole spectrum of unique needs to design for and accommodate.
