The idea for Giving Grace (formerly Grace Like Rain) and Valley Quest Design both began in the same small church group, one dreaming of a ministry to serve families facing homelessness, the other of a creative, people-centric design consulting firm.
Soon after, VQD helped shape the vision for Love First Community—identifying the right property and offering pro-bono site concepts until the perfect fit emerged. VQD then co-led the Planned Development process, securing P&Z and City Council approval, and now serve as landscape architect of record for Phase 1 (under construction).
When complete, this community will support 60+ families in one love-filled location. Being part of this from the very beginning has been one of our greatest honors.

Giving Grace holds a special spot in the heart of VQD. The ministry started the same time as Valley Quest Design, and we have been partnering with them since the beginning. The Love First Community is a “first of it’s kind” project in Denton, with the vision of providing housing assistance, child care, family counseling, life skills training, and other critical care - all under one roof - for families facing the crisis of homelessness. The ground-breaking was in late 2025 and construction is now well under way. Please consider partnering with this non-profit and join them in this battle. They are doing great things!

Are you passionate about creating beautiful, functional landscapes and working in a collaborative, creative environment? Our growing, boutique landscape architecture firm is seeking a talented and motivated Landscape Designer or Landscape Architect with 3-5 years of experience to join our team.

As a key member of our dynamic group, you'll contribute to a variety of exciting projects while honing your skills and advancing your career. We are looking for someone with a keen eye for high-quality design and a positive attitude who thrives in a team-oriented, client-focused setting.

Responsibilities:
- Work alongside senior designers and project managers to develop and execute landscape architecture designs for a range of projects.
- Create detailed design drawings, plans, and presentations using AutoCAD, Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator.
- Collaborate closely with clients, contractors, and other team members to ensure designs meet client expectations and project goals.
- Participate in project meetings and contribute to creative discussions, offering innovative solutions.
- Take part in site visits and assist with project coordination, including managing project schedules and budgets.
- Provide support for other tasks as needed, ensuring a seamless workflow within the team.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture (required).
- 3-5 years of professional experience in landscape architecture or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator.
- A keen eye for high-quality design and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, with experience in client interaction and a customer-service-oriented mindset.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and contribute positively to a team culture.
- A proactive, positive attitude with a focus on achieving the best possible outcomes.

In the Valley: Galaxy Park

The Fort Worth Museum of Science and History has long been a place for discovery and imagination. When plans were made to update the water play area, it presented an exciting opportunity for Valley Quest Design, Open Space TX, and Whirlix Design to create a space that extends the museum’s mission outdoors — where children can explore science and learning through active play.

Galaxy Park is a fully immersive, cosmic-themed outdoor classroom designed for children of all ages and abilities. Valley Quest Design led the site planning and landscape architecture, Whirlix Design brought inclusive play solutions to ensure the space welcomes every visitor and Open Space TX contributed specialized construction expertise.

The courtyard location required careful attention to shade, seating, accessibility, and durability, making the project a rewarding experience for all involved. We’re excited to share that Galaxy Park will be featured as one of the site tour locations during the TXASLA conference in March, giving attendees a firsthand look at this engaging, playful, and educational space.
