Good Sunday brothers! I have been thinking about frustrations for pastors, teachers, and leaders. So many times, you feel like your words fall on deaf ears? Or the one you are counseling with i point slips away again. Or someone says why didn’t you do something this way, when you thought you brought your A game? Well you got to love Paul, because he saw this frustration coming! “I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow. So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow.”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭3‬:‭6‬-‭7‬ ‭NIV‬‬
So, the conquer for today is to not get frustrated! You have only two tasks! Plant and water, everything else in growth process is Gods alone!

Beautiful Tuesday Morning brothers! You know another thing about growing old is you realize chaos is not desirable! You know, you absolutely love your grandchildren, but after a few hours of chaos!!! You desire some peace! I think Jesus many times would stifle chaos with silence! It is truly amazing how God can speak to so many youth at camp! Especially, when they get away from chaos! You know another thing that can cause chaos and calamity is your tongue! In proverbs it warns us about this! “Those who guard their mouths and their tongues keep themselves from calamity.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭21‬:‭23‬ ‭NIV‬‬
Conquer today and think twice before you speak! Don’t forget men’s ministry at 6 pm in the annex!

Good Saturday! I know I am late, but I could not let this verse slip by for today! You know we have been talking and praying about waiting! But, like yesterday? Sometimes, your like seriously that is the answer? I don’t like that answer! Then are you sure God? Then you try to rewrite the question? Maybe God did not understand the prayer? Well, let us conquer today trusting HIS will is correct! “He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.”
‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭3‬:‭11‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Well it’s outreach Wednesday! First, invite someone tonight for a burger and fries! It’s only $4.00 and worth $8. So, if you can buy one for and pay forward for someone in need! What an easy way to share with those in the church! Just like the early church Jeff talked about Sunday! On a more cool note! I started this conquer the morning as an idea from Drew Humphrey to help remind us to give God the first 15 minutes of everyday! We have been doing this for over a year now and yesterday I got quite a lot of feed back on burn out! Well this is both good and bad news! Good news a lot of men are giving God the first 15 minutes! But the bad news is, a lot of men are feeling burned out! Billy even brought it up last night in men’s meeting! So why are we feeling burned out? The number one why we feel is we (men) become self-reliant! We begin to take on the role of savior rather than trusting God to accomplish his will! “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭3‬:‭5‬-‭6‬ ‭NLT‬‬
Now I want to remind you this is only reminder for you to seek God this morning! Tomorrow we will look more into burn out! For today Conquering the self reliance is more than enough! If you don’t think so, maybe you should check out the humility section! Men always tend to take on roles never meant for them, we are taught from birth to be self reliant!

Good Saturday morning! What you see at Walmart always amazes me! There was a young lady there in shorts and tee shirt? Short sleeve! She did have closed toe shoes! You know kids are that way! As a parent you try to make your child wear a coat, but they never want it! But, then once out miles from the coat, they decide they need it now. Then, because you love your daughter, you share your coat or hat? I know you have been there! Well God is the same way. He try’s to provide us shelter, but (can I just stupidity) we reject it? So I am want to Conquer today putting on the coat (shelter) God has provided! It is better than you will ever expect! “But you are a tower of refuge to the poor, O Lord, a tower of refuge to the needy in distress. You are a refuge from the storm and a shelter from the heat. For the oppressive acts of ruthless people are like a storm beating against a wall,”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭25‬:‭4‬ ‭NLT‬‬

good Tuesday Men! Timing! Timing is so important! Do you ever stop and realize some people come into your life for a season? And then they’re gone? I do not think I will really ever understand the timing of God! Actually, I think it’s prideful if I can think I should be able to fully comprehend it! But just yesterday I was talking to my lead man about jobs we had hanging out there. Now, because sometimes in January right after Christmas, the landscaping business gets a little bit slow. Now I had already asked God to provide earlier that morning! So, it’s not uncommon for me to have to lay a few guys off. I was complicating how to lay men off best without affecting their lives/families too much! If there’s a way to possibly do that? Of course in perfect timing my next phone call came from a customer I given an estimate to about two years ago! He finally had the money to do the job! Then I called another customer about doing some preventative maintenance! he released that job! Now these aren’t huge jobs, but they’ll keep guys busy for another week! I have two points in telling you this! God will always keep you in a position where you are looking UP! Second, is more like an observation! Why am I surprised when God provides? It only makes common sense to rely on the God that provides! I’ve known a lot of people in my life, and every one of them has let me down! Let’s conquer today in confidence of his provision! “And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4‬:‭19‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Good Monday morning Men! I am still enjoying California! I did some exploring yesterday! I went from snow covered peaks in the am, to searching for giant redwoods at lunch (can you believe the trail was closed) so i missed the redwoods, made it to Newport beach (sand always reminds me of Abrahams descendants), and then behind me going back up the mountain God painted a beautiful sunset over valley, and then beautifully Christmas lite up downtown Big Bear! Wow, this ia a very unique and beautiful place! So, something else that was unique! Acts 4:11!

“For Jesus is the one referred to in the Scriptures, where it says, ‘The stone that you builders rejected has now become the cornerstone.’”

Now, the ordinary MAN (Peter) told the builders (Priests, elders, men who built the religious ideas) that Jesus fulfilled the Old testament prophecy of Psalms 118:22! The child born in Bethlehem, lived a sinless life, rejected by the ones he would give his life for (sins of the world), and then he CONQUERED death and would be the cornerstone all of christianity would be built on! Conquer today and make Jesus the cornerstone of you life.
