Here’s a quick walkthrough of a backyard renovation we’ve been working on!

We took an underutilized hillside and turned it into a functional outdoor space with a new retaining wall and a permeable paver patio above.

The goal was to build something that looks great but also works the way it should. The pavers are installed over clean gravel chip bedding to promote drainage, with gray polymeric sand in the joints to help handle Cincinnati’s freeze-thaw cycles.

We finished it off with some simple hillside landscaping and subtle lighting on the columns to tie everything together. The railing will be installed shortly to finish off the space.

Another project focused on making better use of the property while building something that will hold up for years to come.

Complete lawn restoration and landscape installation. Took a sad patchy lawn and flipped it to a smooth lush SOD covered lawn. Added simple fresh shrubs to a empty landscape bed to enhance the curb appeal as well giving a more welcoming look.

From an ivy covered hillside to a backyard the whole family can enjoy!
This project was all about turning an unusable ivy covered drainage prone slope into a functional outdoor living space.
We corrected the drainage by regrading the property installed a custom retaining wall to create a larger useable lawn, built a circular paver patio with custom fire pit, and even repurposed the existing flagstone found on site into a beautiful natural walkway.
Now, this family has a backyard that's perfect for entertaining, relaxing and making memories all year.

Working with a sloped canvas we are creating a more usable area for year round use. By building a break into the hill we are able to increase drainage as well as create a flater surface for entertaining. With the previous ivy carpet removed we have created a new grade for a fresh installation of SOD throughout....
