As many homeowners are hearing, ATU (Aerobic Treatment Unit) systems are becoming required in more areas — and while change can feel frustrating, there are real benefits to these systems:

✅ Better wastewater treatment than conventional septic systems
✅ Helps protect groundwater, wells, springs, and our local environment
✅ Great option for properties with challenging soils or smaller lots
✅ Can reduce nutrient impact on nearby lakes and waterways
✅ Often provides solutions where a standard septic system may not be permitted

ATU systems use advanced treatment processes to produce cleaner effluent, making them a smart long-term investment for many properties.

If you’ve been told an ATU is required for your property and have questions about how they work, maintenance, or installation, feel free to reach out — happy to help educate homeowners on their options.

🚨 ATU INSTALLATION & MAINTENANCE – FLORIDA HOMEOWNERS 🚨

Did you know Dixie Septic is certified to install, inspect, and maintain Aerobic Treatment Units (ATUs)?

We are approved to service systems including Biomicrobics, Delta, Aqua-Klear, and other NSF-approved aerobic systems.

⚠️ Important Florida ATU Reminder:
Florida regulations require ATUs to be properly maintained and inspected on a regular schedule. Homeowners must have an active maintenance agreement with a certified provider, and inspection reports must be kept current to remain in compliance.

ATUs are not “set it and forget it” systems — they rely on:
✔️ Routine inspections
✔️ Proper operation of air pumps & controls
✔️ Ongoing maintenance documentation

With recent changes and increased enforcement across Florida, staying compliant is more important than ever.

✅ Dixie Septic is fully certified and experienced to handle ATU installations, required maintenance inspections, and ongoing service — keeping your system running properly and within state guidelines.

📞 Call us today to schedule service or learn if an ATU is right for your property.

Serving Volusia - Lake - Seminole - Orange - Flagler Counties

Dixie Septic Tank Of Orange City, LLC was founded by Gene and Marilyn Evans in 1968 and is currently managed by their sons, Todd and Geno, with their grandson, TJ, leading the installation crews.

We have deep roots in the community and our reputation means everything to us.

We manufacture our own concrete tanks and drain field pipe so that we can control the quality of our products. We feel so strongly about this, that we even developed and patented our own products and processes! (Pat. No. 7,021,671, D443,344, 6,120,209, 5,829,916, & 5,549,415)

While we've kept many of the tried and true methods and products, we have never stopped innovating! Our goal is to create the best functioning and most durable product we can.

It isn't unusual for a concrete septic tank to last in excess of 50 years and our drain field systems routinely last 25-30 years. Other systems don't come close to that!

In a world were businesses come and go, Dixie Septic Tank has been here for over 50 years and will be there for you in the future!
