Monday morning fun fact!
I know you guys all know about the Brown Marmorated Stink Bug right?
These are the guys that come in during the fall and freak all of our wives out because they fly and they sound like little drones and girls are always worried about getting them in their hair. I have really good news for you, they just want to find a crack or crevice to Hide away in and overwinter and leave come Spring.
They do not mate inside they do not lay eggs inside they go into a low activity state and just hide out. They are not damaging to anything in your home they live off of trees and plants and even some berries.
Flights to find overwintering sites begin in mid-September and peak the third week of October. Before the stink bugs enter, practice exclusion. Since these stink bugs are attracted to lights, change exterior lighting to less-attractive yellow bulbs or sodium vapor.Typical entry points include around door and window frames, electrical outlets, light switches, ceiling fans, skylights, and ceiling light fixtures.
Long story short like I've said in my previous posts and blogs we treat them like a Winter pet not a pest but a pet they come in they lay low then come Spring we open the door and show him out and they're happy to be gone.
Have a wonderful Monday!
