❄️ Cold Weather Heat Pump Tip from Henley Services ❄️

When temperatures drop into extreme cold, heat pumps can struggle. Moisture can freeze on the outdoor unit and ice can build up on the fan blades.

If the system keeps running while iced up:
⚠️ Fan blades can become unbalanced
❄️ Blades may bend or break
🔧 Fan motors and bearings can be damaged
💸 Repairs can be costly

👉 Using Emergency Heat during extreme cold helps by:
• Shutting down the outdoor unit
• Allowing ice to melt naturally
• Protecting your fan blades and motor

⚡ Emergency Heat does use more electricity, but it’s meant for short periods and can help prevent expensive damage.

🌡️ Once outdoor temps rise above about 30–35°F, switch back to normal HEAT mode.
