The club is open to all who are interested in learning about, growing, and/or showing African violets and gesneriads. Our meetings are usually held on the first Saturday of each month (no meeting in July), unless otherwise posted. Our in-person meetings are held at th

e First Baptist Church of Decatur, 308 Clairmont Road, Decatur GA 30030. Drive into the driveway at the front of the church and continue back through the parking lot towards the softball field. Our meeting room is on the main floor of the building facing the softball field. Meetings start at 1 pm so it is helpful if you arrive early to view sale plants and leaves, and to give you time to get settled in before the meeting begins. Our newsletters are sent out the week of each meeting and will provide you with the upcoming meeting agenda and information. On the occasions when we have non-local speakers, our meetings take place via Zoom and not in-person. This may occur once or twice a year. After our July hiatus it was great to see so many club members in attendance at our August meeting. Prep work continues for our October show and sale, and Phillis did a wonderful presentation on terrarium design since we hope to have a few entered in the show. We also had three guest join us, and hope they will soon be members. 2026 has certainly been a year of growth for the club.

I remember when 20 attendees at our meetings was an amazing turnout. It now seems that 30 is the new norm. We had an excellent June meeting. Scarla again put together a great program, this time on miniatures and semi-miniatures. Phillis continued getting us closer to putting on a great show in October. Little doubt that it, along with the sale will be a big success. And a welcome to our newest member, Andrew E. A reminder that we will be taking our annual July summer break, so our next meeting will be on August 1st.
