e First Baptist Church of Decatur, 308 Clairmont Road, Decatur GA 30030. Drive into the driveway at the front of the church and continue back through the parking lot towards the softball field. Our meeting room is on the main floor of the building facing the softball field. Meetings start at 1 pm so it is helpful if you arrive early to view sale plants and leaves, and to give you time to get settled in before the meeting begins. Our newsletters are sent out the week of each meeting and will provide you with the upcoming meeting agenda and information. On the occasions when we have non-local speakers, our meetings take place via Zoom and not in-person. This may occur once or twice a year. If you would like to attend our meetings as a visitor/guest, send us an email at: [email protected] for additional details about upcoming meetings.

Our May meeting was another success. About 30 members attended, happy with the results of our April spring sale and now looking forward to our Fall show and sale in October. Propagation was our topic for the month and we used one of our favorite ways of learning, a panel discussion, to learn different methods of successful propagation. We all have different methods that work for us and this is an excellent way to spread that knowledge. Thanks to Scarla, Linda, Alfredo, and Cheryl for working the panel. And we also had a great mini show this month, especially with a wonderful collection of blooming streptocarpus that Kathy brought in.

Our club's spring sale and meeting were a great success. Plenty of starters and supplies to choose from, and thanks to Scarla for setting up a repotting station to show several of our guests how to properly repot their plants. A good number of our members were on-hand from the start to help set up and run the sale, plus a very good turnout for our meeting afterwards, where Scarla continued with a much more detailed discussion on repotting methods. An added plus was the sign-up of 6 new club members during the sale. Now, for the next 6 months, we'll place greater focus on preparing for our AVSA show and sale in October.

Wow! What a fantastic turnout at our March meeting on the 7th. We had 30+ members and guests. We've now welcomed 3 new members in 2026! Scarla did a great presentation on African violet species plants and the club judges judged the entries in the DAWG show. Paul's Buckeye Seductress was awarded the Best DAWG prize. We also made final preparations for our Spring Sale and hands-on repotting meeting next month, on Saturday, April 4th. Details coming soon.
