From the lavender roses and delphinium to the soft blush accents, airy textures, and fern-filled greenery, this wedding was such a joy to create. Watching these blooms come to life alongside such a sweet couple is always my favorite part of this work.

🖤🌻 “Men deserve their flowers too.”

That was the request from a sweet daughter wanting something special for her dad this Father’s Day.

She asked for black flowers—but still wanted them to feel wild, whimsical, and full of life. So we leaned into the unexpected: black hydrangeas and roses, sunny sunflowers, blue delphinium, chamomile, mint, and meadow-inspired blooms dancing every which way.

This one felt different. Thoughtful. Personal. A reminder that flowers aren’t just for grand occasions or one kind of person.

Sometimes they’re simply a way to say, “I love you, Dad. Thank you for being you.”

Custom requests like this are some of my favorites because they tell a story long before the card is ever opened. Dream it up, send me your inspiration, and I’ll do my best to bring it to life. 🖤🌻✨

Subscription Saturday came with a full heart this week…💐🚗 A car full of flowers, wedding orders, and a rare chance to spend the day with my favorite delivery sidekick.

Along with delivering subscriptions and two wedding orders, we had a special guest riding shotgun and learning the route.

Meet Luke: Backyard Blooms’ newest delivery assistant.

Compensation package: one Casey’s drink. 🥤

Dress code: basketball shorts and Uggs. 🤣

Qualifications: Almost 18, can lift bouquets, knows every shortcut in town, and expertly masters the art of looking mildly inconvenienced while helping his mom run a flower business.

Meanwhile, I wrapped bouquets overflowing with delphinium, campanula, chamomile, yarrow, mint, garden roses, and all the cottage garden goodness. 🌿🩵

Truthfully, I loved having him along today. Even if he’s only here for the free drinks and occasional bouquet deliveries, I’ll take every minute I can get. 💙

I wish I had more photos from recital weekend… but when you’re a one-woman florist making 125+ bouquets while prepping subscription deliveries and wedding flowers for the next day, sometimes the flowers have to be the photos. 💜🌸

Thankfully, I had the best wrapping crew by my side (thank you, family and friends ❤️), helping tie bows, load buckets, and keep the flower chaos moving.

These snapshots are a little glimpse into what recital week really looked like: cars overflowing with blooms, buckets taking over every inch of space, early mornings, tired feet, and so much love poured into each bouquet.

Watching dancers celebrate big moments while holding something I created never gets old. Thank you to the Jan's Dance Studio families for allowing Backyard Blooms & Bouquets to be a small part of another special recital season. 💜🩰

Happy Birthday to my rock. ❤️🪨

If you’ve ever met Patrick, you know he’s not usually the one in the spotlight. He’s the one quietly showing up, working hard, fixing what needs fixed, carrying what needs carried, and making sure the people he loves are taken care of.

This year has had its share of challenges, busy seasons, long days, and moments where I wasn’t sure how we’d get everything done. Through all of it, Patrick has been my steady place to land.

He’s the muscle behind Backyard Blooms, the guy who helps turn crazy flower dreams into reality, but more importantly, he’s my partner in all of it. The person I lean on when life feels heavy and the one who reminds me that we’ll figure it out, one step at a time.

Patrick, thank you for being my rock, my safe place, my biggest supporter, and the best teammate a girl could ask for.

This week’s bouquets are bringing all the happy summer vibes.

Locally grown feverfew, yarrow, mint, and other garden favorites are starting to join the party, mixed with garden roses and specialty blooms to create bouquets that feel like sunshine wrapped in paper. ☀️

The coral garden roses stealing the show this week are Amsterdam roses, sourced from our amazing wholesaler friends in California. Their color is absolutely unreal and they pair perfectly with the soft pinks, cheerful whites, and pops of blue tucked throughout these bouquets.

And can we talk about the fresh mint for a second? Every bouquet smelled absolutely divine while we were designing this morning. 🌿

One of my favorite things about subscriptions is that no two weeks are exactly alike. As the season changes, so do the flowers—and you get to experience the best of what’s blooming right now.

☀️ These bouquets feel like summer in flower form.

Bailee and Connor’s wedding felt like it was made for a summer day in the countryside.

Soft garden roses, chamomile dancing in the breeze, and seasonal blooms in shades of blush, buttercream, lavender, and sky blue.

Nothing overly structured.
Nothing overly formal.

Just flowers that felt like they belonged alongside weathered silos, open fields, cowboy boots, and the people who gathered to celebrate these two.

It’s back for the 2026 season!

This week’s bouquets are a little snapshot of everything we love.

The yarrow is absolutely showing off right now in shades of pink, peach, cream, and soft yellow. The stock is blooming beautifully. The feverfew and Canterbury bells are dancing everywhere. And those incredible ruffled garden roses? They arrived from our wholesale flower friends in California and are stealing the show.

One of my favorite things about our subscriptions is that no two Saturdays are ever exactly the same. We blend what’s blooming in our two backyard gardens with carefully selected stems from trusted growers to create something unique each week.

After months of planting, watering, weeding, and waiting, seeing the gardens finally start to fill with color never gets old. 🌱💕

And of course, Bear made sure to supervise this morning’s harvest and quality-check everything before it headed out the door. 🐾

Not many brides get to carry flowers harvested from their own family homestead. 🌸

A few weeks before this wedding, the bride’s family was away celebrating college graduations when the peonies at her childhood home reached their peak bloom. Her mom asked if I could step in, harvest them, and carefully store them until wedding week.

So I spent a few afternoons gathering bucket after bucket of peonies from the place where this bride grew up, that would later become part of her wedding day.

When wedding week arrived, we blended those sentimental peonies with blooms from our own gardens and carefully selected specialty stems to create the colorful, wildflower-inspired designs she envisioned. Every bouquet and arrangement felt like the perfect mix of family history, locally grown beauty, and a little Backyard Blooms creativity.

But what I’ll remember most wasn’t the flowers, it was the love. ❤️ The warmth of this family, the pride, the joy, and the feeling that every detail was deeply meaningful.

That means one of our favorite traditions is almost here…

🌿 Summer Subscription Season begins this Saturday! 🌿

From June through August, our subscribers receive a fresh bouquet each week filled with the best of what’s blooming in our gardens and carefully selected seasonal flowers. No two weeks are exactly alike—one week might be soft and romantic, the next bright and cheerful, and another full of wildflower charm.

It’s one of the most rewarding parts of our season because subscribers get to experience the gardens as they change and grow week by week.

From the first snapdragons and stock to the zinnias, sunflowers, and dahlias waiting in the wings, summer is just getting started.

✨ We still have a limited number of subscription spots available for this season.

Whether you’re treating yourself, brightening your kitchen table each week, or surprising someone special, we’d love to share a summer full of blooms with you.
