At Steve’s Roofing, we’ve been taking care of homeowners since 1953. Four generations of our family have built our reputation on quality workmanship, honesty, and doing what’s right for our customers.

While we specialize in complete roof replacements, we know that not every roof needs replacing. Sometimes a good, professional repair is all that’s needed!

That’s why we’re proud to recommend two trusted local roofing repair professionals.

🍂⛈️ FALL STORM SEASON IS HERE — HOMEOWNERS, PLEASE READ! ⛈️🍂

As we head into another fall storm season, we want to share an important reminder with our friends and neighbors throughout East Tennessee.

Not every roofing contractor knocking on your door has your best interests at heart.

Unfortunately, severe weather often attracts storm-chasing roofing companies looking to take advantage of homeowners who may be worried about damage to their homes.

We’re not saying every out-of-town contractor is dishonest. But we ARE saying you should do your homework before trusting anyone with one of the biggest investments in your home.

🚩 WATCH FOR THESE RED FLAGS:

❌ Unsolicited door knockers. If you didn’t call them, you are under no obligation to let them inspect your roof. It’s perfectly fine to say, “No, thank you.”

❌ Pressure to sign paperwork immediately. NEVER sign anything you don’t fully understand. Some documents may authorize work, create financial obligations, or affect your rights regarding an insurance claim.

❌ Promises of a “free roof” through insurance. Be cautious of anyone promising to get your insurance company to pay for a roof before your claim has even been evaluated.

❌ Contractors who can’t provide a verifiable local business history. Ask where they’re based, how long they’ve been operating, and whether they’ll be around if problems arise.

❌ Requests for large upfront payments. Understand the payment terms before agreeing to any work, and be especially cautious of anyone demanding immediate payment.

✅ HOW TO PROTECT YOURSELF:

✔️ Check the company’s reputation with the Better Business Bureau (BBB).

✔️ Read Google reviews and look at the company’s history, not just its star rating.

✔️ Get multiple estimates and compare what you’re actually receiving.

✔️ Verify manufacturer certifications and ask about warranties.

✔️ Ask who will actually be installing your roof. Will it be the company you hired or a subcontracted crew?

✔️ If you believe your roof has storm damage, contact your insurance company first to understand your coverage and claims process.

🏠 A WORD FROM OUR FAMILY TO YOURS

Steve’s Roofing has been serving our communities since 1953 — four generations of our family.

Today, my son Steven and I continue that tradition.

We’re a GAF Master Elite Roofing Contractor with an A+ BBB rating, and we include the GAF Golden Pledge Warranty with every new roof we install.

We do our own work. No subcontracted roofing crews. And we don’t collect payment until the job is completed.

But whether you choose us or another reputable local contractor, our advice remains the same:

TAKE YOUR TIME. DO YOUR RESEARCH. AND NEVER LET ANYONE PRESSURE YOU INTO SIGNING SOMETHING.

Storm damage is stressful enough. Choosing someone to repair or replace your roof shouldn’t make it worse.

Please share this with your friends, family, and neighbors. It might save someone from making a very expensive mistake.

🌪️ STORMY WEATHER HEADED OUR WAY! 🌧️

Looks like Mother Nature has decided Southeast Tennessee needs another round of excitement this weekend!

With potentially heavy rain and strong winds expected Saturday and Sunday, now is a good time to prepare.

⚠️ A FEW THINGS TO REMEMBER:

💨 Strong winds can loosen shingles and damage roofing materials.

🌧️ Heavy rainfall can expose existing roof problems and cause leaks.

🌳 Falling limbs and flying debris can cause serious damage.

🏠 If you suspect roof damage after the storm, have it evaluated by a qualified professional.

🚨 A WORD OF CAUTION ABOUT STORM CHASERS AND DOOR KNOCKERS!

After severe weather, it’s common for out-of-town contractors to show up offering free roof inspections or promising to get you a new roof.

Our advice is simple:

❌ DON’T SIGN ANYTHING!

If someone knocks on your door offering roofing services and you didn’t contact them, it’s perfectly fine to politely say “No thanks.”

Take your time and do your homework.

✅ Check the Better Business Bureau (BBB).

✅ Read Google reviews and look at the company’s history.

✅ Verify that the contractor is established and local.

✅ Check their certifications, insurance, and warranties.

✅ Get multiple estimates before making a decision.

A trustworthy contractor won’t pressure you into signing something on your doorstep.

🌧️ Apparently I can’t escape the rain! 😂

I came to the beach for a few days thinking I’d trade East Tennessee weather for some sunshine…

🏖️ Nope. It’s raining here too.

Meanwhile, I’m seeing that Tennessee is getting its share of rain—and unfortunately, rain has a way of reminding homeowners exactly where their roof problems are. 💧🏠

I’ll be back home Thursday, rested up and ready to get back at it with my son Steven.

If this rain has you discovering that your roof has reached the end of the road, give Steve’s Roofing a call for a free roof replacement estimate.

Another Chattanooga roof complete! 🏠

We just finished this home in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and what a difference!

For this roof, the homeowners chose GAF Timberline UHDZ in Charcoal—one of GAF’s premium shingles and a UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated shingle, the highest impact-resistance classification under that test standard.

That means this roof isn’t just good looking. UHDZ is built for added protection against damaging impacts such as hail, while also giving the roof that thicker, dimensional appearance you can really see in the finished photos.

And because we’re a GAF Master Elite® Contractor, this roof comes with the GAF Golden Pledge® Warranty included.

Another one finished in Ten Mile, Tennessee! 🏠

This one definitely kept us on our toes.

With the height, steep areas, multiple rooflines, valleys, and overall complexity of this home, this wasn’t your average roof replacement. But these are the kinds of projects where experience and attention to detail really matter.

We installed a complete GAF roofing system featuring Timberline UHDZ shingles in Charcoal, and I think the finished roof looks outstanding against this beautiful log home and lake setting.

As a GAF Master Elite® Contractor, we’re able to provide our customers with the GAF Golden Pledge® Warranty, and we include it with every qualifying new roof we install.

And just like always — Steven and I were there doing the work. No subcontracted roofing crews. That’s the way our family has done business for generations.

🏚️➡️🏠 FROM OLD METAL TO A COMPLETE ROOFING SYSTEM | SWEETWATER, TN

This farm building in Sweetwater, Tennessee needed quite a bit more than a new roof.

Once we removed the old metal roofing, we found water-damaged rafters that needed to be repaired before we could move forward. We wanted to make sure everything underneath the new roof was solid—not just cover up the problem.

🔨 Here’s what went into this one:

* Removed the existing metal roof
* Repaired water-damaged rafters
* Installed new 2x6 roof slats
* Decked the entire roof with 7/16” OSB
* Installed new sub-fascia around the entire building
* Finished it with a GAF Total Roofing System in Charcoal

The before-and-after pictures tell the story. What started as an aging metal roof is now a properly rebuilt roof structure with a complete GAF roofing system protecting it.

As a GAF Master Elite® Contractor, we don’t believe the shingles are the only part of the roof that matters. What’s underneath them matters just as much.

🏠 Remember this Spring City roof? Here’s the AFTER!

When we posted the before pictures, we said this one was going to be a dramatic change. We weren’t kidding!

This Spring City project involved quite a bit more than simply putting on new shingles.

We removed the old metal roofing, decked the home with new OSB, and installed new fascia boards to give us a solid, properly prepared foundation for the new roofing system.

Then came the transformation — a complete GAF roofing system featuring Timberline HDZ® in Midnight Mesa.

What a difference! Midnight Mesa was a great choice for this home and completely changed its appearance.

And just like every new roof we install, this one is backed by the GAF Golden Pledge® Limited Warranty.
