🏗️ WE’RE HIRING | Assistant Project & Estimating Manager

This is a full-time, office-based position supporting our Estimating and Project Management teams throughout the life of our construction projects. We’re looking for someone who is organized, dependable, detail-oriented and a strong communicator. Someone who enjoys keeping projects and people on track and making sure nothing falls through the cracks.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required, and experience with ProCore construction management software is a plus.

What you’ll do:
• Assist with bid preparation and subcontractor/vendor coordination
• Organize and track proposals, bids and project documents
• Process and track submittals and requests for information
• Maintain procurement and project tracking logs
• Assist with subcontracts, purchase orders and change orders
• Follow up with subcontractors and vendors
• Provide day-to-day support to our Estimators and Project Managers

Construction experience is preferred, but we’re also interested in candidates with strong organizational and communication skills who are eager to learn the construction industry.

Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. (1-hour lunch)

PROJECT UPDATE | North Alabama Pepsi

Renovations are underway at North Alabama Pepsi, and we're excited to see the transformation taking shape!

This project includes updates throughout the facility, including renovated restrooms, a new coffee bar, an updated exterior façade, new sidewalks and storefront doors, and a new TPO roofing system. Inside, a new exposed and painted truss system adds both structural support and a fresh industrial look.

The project also includes relocating existing mechanical units and installing a new rooftop unit as part of the facility improvements.

We're proud to be part of giving this longtime Decatur business a refreshed space while preparing it for the future.

Carter Hall Renovation Progress | Athens State University

Big things are happening inside Carter Hall at Athens State University — literally.

Our team recently completed an impressive structural steel operation involving approximately 100 tons of steel trusses that will support the movable partitions within the renovated space.

Getting these massive trusses into an existing building required careful planning and coordination every step of the way. The steel sections were first loaded through an existing door opening using a combination of 250-ton and 450-ton cranes. Once inside, a winch was used to move the trusses along pre-designated pathways across the floor. Those pathways were reinforced from the level below with a temporary shoring system designed to safely support the load.

After each truss section was positioned, crane rigging was lowered through openings in the roof. From there, two cranes worked simultaneously to carefully lift and set the truss sections into place.

These structural improvements are helping make Athens State’s vision for Carter Hall a reality. Once complete, the renovated and expanded facility will provide flexible spaces for academic programs, public events and community engagement, including a renovated gym designed to accommodate approximately 1,100 people with movable partitions that allow for multiple event configurations.
