As we kicked off our new department, things have been great. There's a lot of misunderstanding around what UDSA BUILDS are. We want to take a moment to educate and help you choose the right project for your needs.

What is a USDA BUILDS? USDA builds do not require a licensed contractor or general contractor. These builds are basically guidelines to build according to U.S. Department of Agriculture standards.

What are those standards? USDA APHIS oversees places that deal with animals such as kennels, breeding facilities, zoos, animal shelters and boarding facilities. Building a farm fence does not constitute a build to those standards.

Why did we choose to add this department? In the TRI STATE region there isn't a certain business that knows the USDA STANDARDS like us. There also isn't any business that focuses on building with animal involvement. Most will build a fence for example for a animal shelter but build only a fence.

Here at PFN Landscape & Outdoor Living we focus on building to those standards.

What a great way to start the summer! PFN Landscape & Outdoor Living is now starting a USDA building division. What does that mean?

We will not start doing projects that focus around U.S. Department of Agriculture standards.

Those projects can be either dog parks, animal rescues, animal education facilities, animal boarding, doggy daycare, farm fencing or even livestock holding areas. Our company has been learning the in and outs of USDA standards. We feel we are ready to showcase our abilities to the community.

A few projects we just completed.

Up first is a fully composite from ground up deck using Owens Corning Lumber / TimberTech Decking with Keylink American series railing

We also collaborated with Reading Rock Cincinnati Ohio on a nice patio with built in seats and columns.

Our second project was a return clients that needed an additional wooden deck also serving as an outlook in their back yard.
