One of the most common mix-ups on a door order isn't the door. It's the opening.

Older homes in North Georgia often shift over the years. A frame that looks square isn't always square anymore. A quarter inch off in one spot can be enough to throw a stock size out.

Catching it before the order goes in saves the whole timeline. Catching it after means a second trip and a longer wait.

If a home has been standing a while, it's worth measuring more than once. Twice, if the corners look even a little off.

More performance doesn't always mean a better fit.

It's easy to assume the higher spec is the safer choice. A thicker door, a higher-rated window, a heavier-duty material than the project calls for.

Sometimes that extra performance never gets used. A window rated for extreme wind loads on a covered porch. A door built for commercial traffic on a rarely used side entrance.

Matching the product to the actual job usually makes more sense than defaulting to the strongest option on the shelf.

Fiberglass or steel for your front door? Both hold up well. They just hold up in different ways.

Steel dents; a stray bump from a ladder or a bike can leave a mark that's hard to pull back out.

Fiberglass resists dents better and won't rust at the edges the way steel sometimes does over time in a humid climate. It usually costs a bit more upfront.

Steel tends to run more budget-friendly. For a side door or a rental unit, that trade-off can make more sense than it does on a front entry.

Neither one is the wrong answer. It depends on what the door has to deal with, and how long you plan to be looking at it every day.

A custom exterior door can take 8 to 12 weeks to build. A stock door doesn't.

If a standard size and style works for your opening, there's no reason to wait months for something built to spec. Custom makes sense for a non-standard opening or a specific look you can't find off the shelf. Stock makes sense when it already fits.

Worth checking what's in stock before you assume a custom order is the only option.

WAREHOUSE ASSOCIATE

• Load and unload doors, windows & building materials
• Help customers load purchases
• Receive and organize inventory
• Assist customers as needed
• Keep warehouse and loading areas clean and organized
• Help with general day-to-day warehouse duties

DELIVERY DRIVER

• Make local deliveries to customers and job sites
• Safely load and unload building materials
• Verify orders before leaving for delivery
• Provide friendly, professional customer service
• Assist in the warehouse when not making deliveries
• Keep delivery vehicle clean and organized

We’re looking for people who are:
• Dependable and punctual
• Hardworking and willing to help wherever needed
• Comfortable working with customers
• Able to safely lift and handle building materials

Delivery Driver must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Full-time positions | Dawsonville, GA

That undersells what it actually offers.

Buying through a wholesale supplier means access to overstock, bulk pricing, and inventory that never gets marked up for one-off retail sale. For contractors sourcing materials regularly, that difference in access matters as much as the price difference.

It's a different buying model, not just a discount.
