Here’s a few jobs REK accomplished this week!

First thing, the team accomplished a downhill drill at freedom river campground to provide power to a pavilion and set a unistrut rack for the meter to live its life. This drill consisted of a 10’ drop in grade change in 160’ and they smacked their target dead on at the pavilion edge post! With the F5 falcon drill locator from digi trak, a highly experienced locator operator and an extremely exceptional directional drill operator, this was no challenge to the team! REK also installed another power duct at freedom river that consisted of a 320’ directional drill operation providing light to their massive flag pole.

Next, a light pole was hit by a car in the town of Oxford which ended up leaning the pole base out of level, kinda surprising the pole didn’t break with how hard the pole was hit to lean the base over an inch out of level! We worked along side Electrical Systems Inc., yates underground exposure and the city of Oxford. This job consisted of shutting down a lane of traffic to operate safely from the road to hydrovac and expose the electrical conduits that came out of the pole, as well as exposing around the pole base to the bottom of the base so that we could straighten the pole back to level and repair the broken conduit.

Last but not least, we installed a power duct with a directional drill for new car chargers in Lathrup community center working with State Electric Company.

The week of sprinkler sleeve installation’s!!! Today the team knocked out 2-4” pvc sprinkler sleeve installs from building to island, then from island to greenbelt to feed the perimeter of the parking lot with water at the new Jeep dealership in Lansing.

This scope of work included cutting and removing asphalt, then trenching and undermining the curbs so that the sleeves stick past the back of the curb for easy access to the sleeves.

Normally we would finish by reapplying new asphalt to replace the existing asphalt that we removed, but this was just the base layer. With that being said, once the finish layer is added when the paving company finishes the parking lot, it will look like none of this ever happened!!

Even with power, gas and communication in conflict, the team made easy work of it to end the Friday with another successful sprinkler sleeve install!

Sprinkler sleeve installs are going in left and right this week and our team has been laying the pipe!!! Here are some pictures of a couple sleeves REK accomplished this week.

Today the team installed a 6” sprinkler sleeve across a drive so that this school can get water to their soccer fields. There were a couple utilities in conflict but that didnt slow these guys down!

With top shelf locating equipment and the experience this team offers, we’re able to locate and spot utilities so that they don’t get damaged and safely pull off a job with NO HEADACHES!!

Today our team installed 3- 4” pvc sprinkler sleeves in Howell for Michigan Automatic Sprinkler using HDD trenchless technology.

Here’s a couple concrete generator pads we recently installed in Bloomfield for a security house and caretaker house at the Ishbia mansion.

Simple, or complex, WE DO IT ALL!! Here we installed a sleeve for sprinklers under an entry way using HDD technology to save cutting and removing concrete to trench across the entry way.

These jobs are typically pretty simple depending on utility conflict and other factors like ground conditions and space for machinery, although we have delt with a lot of difficult situations even on the “simple” jobs, we usually figure out a solution to get the job done regardless!

We have over 35 YEARS of horizontal directional drilling and excavation experience and we have built a small team of determined individuals that are highly skilled and take a lot of pride in getting the job done right the first time!

Very proud to say we helped bring some light to highland park. It was an honor being contractor of choice for the installation of these new light pole bases.

Things are about to start looking a little brighter in some parts of Highland Park as brand-new streetlights are being installed.
