From a classic kitchen to a bright, open, and cohesive new space. Swipe for the before ➡️

As part of this Danville whole-home remodel, we brought the homeowners’ contemporary vision to life with a warm, coordinated palette of materials and finishes.

European oak flooring adds continuity throughout the home, while Macaubas Fantasy honed quartzite introduces subtle blue-gray veining and refined contrast in the kitchen and primary bathroom. Layered cabinetry colors create a soft ombré effect, and fixtures add a timeless finishing touch.

A partial-height wall defines the entry without closing off the kitchen, preserving the home’s airy feel while providing just the right amount of separation.

A pool house can become the heart of a backyard—but designing one for the long term takes more than following the latest trends.

The best spaces feel like a natural extension of the home, pair durable materials with purposeful amenities, and leave room to adapt as your family and lifestyle change.

Our latest blog explores what to consider when designing a pool house that looks beautiful, functions well and stands the test of time.

There’s a lot that happens between “almost done” and handing the home back to our clients.

As this Lafayette project gets closer to the finish line, Mike gives us a look at how the team is bringing everything together—and making sure the details get the same attention at the end as they did from day one.

The home stretch is an exciting one.

The finished space gets all the attention, but there’s a whole lot of expertise behind getting it there.

From careful planning and problem-solving to the craftsmanship happening on site, every phase plays a part in creating a home that’s built to last—and worth the wait.

A pergola or pavilion shouldn’t be an afterthought.

The key difference is coverage: a pergola typically has an open or slatted roof for filtered shade, while a pavilion has a solid roof for more complete protection from sun and rain.

Planned from the beginning, either structure can define where you cook, dine, relax, and entertain—while connecting your home to the backyard and shaping the rest of the outdoor design.

We’re breaking down how to choose between a pergola and pavilion, and how each can play a bigger role in a thoughtfully designed outdoor living space. Read more: https://gaylerdesignbuild.com/blog/design-build-blog/pergola-deserves-bigger-role-outdoor-living-design
