From footings to fireside 🔥

The Danville Project started with excavation, rebar, and raw framing. What came out of it is a full backyard retreat built for gathering.

A covered pavilion with a vaulted wood ceiling and ceiling fans anchors the space, with a stacked stone fireplace and TV setting up the lounge area. Just steps away, a stone-clad outdoor kitchen with a built-in fridge keeps everything within reach, and a pergola adds shaded space at the edge of the yard. There's room to dine, lounge, and entertain, all surrounded by lush landscaping.

Natural cedar, done right 🌲

On the Herrera Project, we went big on cedar and paid special attention to the ceiling. The beams are 8 inches wide and 20 inches tall, so they make a real statement overhead.

The homeowners wanted the look of exposed beams without the busy look of rafters. So we installed the cedar ceiling below the rafters, which gives the space a clean, finished feel while keeping those substantial beams front and center.

The warm wood ties the whole outdoor living space together, working with the pool, the stone flooring, and the stucco walls for a look that feels cohesive from every angle.

17 years in their home. This is the first year they've actually used their backyard 🏡

When Sandra and Paul bought their house, the backyard was a broken-up concrete patio with a huge tree right in the middle. After a rough experience with a previous contractor, the project sat untouched for a couple of years.

Building on a hillside isn't simple. As Sandra put it, it's extremely important to have someone who understands what it takes to shore up any structure on a property like theirs. That's exactly what we brought to the table, and today their backyard is a space they finally get to enjoy, complete with a spa, lounge area, and views to match.
