HOLE 15 — NCR Country Club North

"There was just something about the hole that resonated with me. The hole was already really good when I saw it for the first time. Yet I knew it could be even better. Late in the day as the sun drops in the sky, the hole becomes a perfect palette for a Bierstadt landscape painting. The green expansion is one of the largest on the property and will cause fits for some." — Jim Nagle, Golf Course Architect

Hole 15 at the restored North Course. A lengthy par four with gentle, rolling fairways flanked by elegant duet bunker complexes on both sides of the landing zone. The green expanded at the rear by nearly twenty-five percent — bringing the back-left greenside bunker dramatically back into play and recapturing green surface lost over the years.

HOLE 14 — NCR Country Club North

Hole 14. A hole that rewards the proper line.

A relocated fairway bunker now sits on the left side of the landing zone — a deliberate nod to the hidden, blind shot challenges that define so many great Golden Age designs. Find the right line off the tee and the ball feeds beautifully down a sloping fairway toward a green complex that has been completely reimagined.

The front of the green has been expanded to welcome more forward pin placements on what is already an inviting downhill approach. The former left greenside bunker is gone — replaced by a massive roll-off area larger than the green itself, demanding both precision and nerve in equal measure.

In architect Jim Nagle's own words: "The 14th greensite jumped out to me as an opportunity waiting to be explored. Aerial photos later confirmed that the old approach was once green. The rough was removed from the front left k**b, approach height grass restored, and the roll-off to the left and rear continued to evolve as the plan developed. One of my favorite greens and surrounds on the property."

HOLE 12 — NCR Country Club North

Hole 12. A hole transformed.What was once a par four is now a legitimate par five — a shared combo tee with the eighth hole adding nearly sixty yards and completely changing the conversation from the back tees.

The architecture tells the story hole by hole. Fairway bunkers strategically repositioned 330 yards out guard the first landing zone. Three new bunkers — two left, one small and menacing on the right — subtly intrude into the second landing zone just enough to make you think twice. And an enlarged green on the right now allows the greenside bunkers to integrate naturally into the complex, opening up pin positions that simply didn't exist before.

More length. More strategy. More options. This is what a great restoration adds to a golf course.Proud to have built it. 🏌️

North Course reopens!

Proud and grateful to be named by NCR Country Club as part of the team behind the restored North Course.

This past weekend, the North Course officially reopened — the result of months of construction, years of planning, and the vision of architect Jim Nagle.

To the NCR membership, staff, and committees — thank you for trusting Aspen with something this meaningful.

The wait is over.

The first round has been played. 🎉

History was made today on the restored North Course at NCR Country Club — including the first eagle ever recorded on the new North.

What a way to open a golf course.

NCR Country Club - Hole 11. A par three that rewards a closer look.

At first glance it may seem familiar — but this hole quietly tells one of the most thoughtful stories of the entire restoration. A newly added runway tee pays direct homage to Dick Wilson — one of golf's great mid-century architects, who designed the North Course in 1954 at the height of his career.

The removal of the old hackberry fence line and sentinel cedars has opened up the green complex in a way that feels entirely intentional — expansive, uncluttered, breathing. No artifice. Just golf as it was meant to be seen.

The classic hummocks at 10 and 2 o'clock are now beautifully featured in bentgrass. Same green surface. Entirely new character.

This is what it means to restore a course the right way — not reimagining a legend's work, but finally revealing it.

Hole 10. Time to make the turn. 🏌️⛳

A newly positioned forward tee opening up the fairway. A repositioned bunker now shaping the hole the way it was always meant to be played. A formidable greenside bunker guarding the front right of an expanded green, with bentgrass surrounds along the left that invite every kind of recovery shot.

Every detail intentional. Every change an improvement. Proud to have built it.

The back nine is almost here.

Over the past several days, NCR Country Club has been sharing the transformation of the North Course hole by hole — and we've been watching with a lot of pride.

We were honored to be part of this restoration. New tees, rebuilt bunkers, expanded fairways, a brand new irrigation system — every inch of this course was touched.

Before the countdown continues, take one more look at Holes 1 through 9.
