Homes are rarely used one room at a time.

Life overlaps. Someone is reading while dinner is cooking. Kids are doing homework at the table. Friends gather around a meal before lingering over conversation.

That's why the best homes are designed with flexibility in mind. Spaces should feel connected, comfortable and ready to support the many ways people actually live, not just the way they're labeled on a floor plan.

Beautiful design isn't just about creating individual rooms. It's about creating a home that works together.

Some paint colors have stood the test of time. There's a reason they still feel right today.

Benjamin Moore introduced its Historical Collection in 1976 as part of America's Bicentennial celebration. Rather than following the color trends of the day, the collection drew inspiration from shades found on historic American architecture. Nearly 50 years later, many of those same colors continue to be favorites for both historic homes and new homes inspired by traditional design.

When we think about timeless architecture, color is part of the story. Historic homes have an enduring quality because every element works together. The proportions, materials, architectural details, and color palette all contribute to a home that feels balanced and authentic.

Whether you're restoring an older home or building a new one, studying historic color palettes can be a great place to start. The right paint color doesn't just complement a house. It reinforces the home's architectural character and helps it feel like it belongs.

It's a reminder that some of the best design inspiration isn't new at all. Sometimes, it's simply stood the test of time.

A second-floor addition like this creates more than another room. It gives a home the flexibility to evolve as life changes. It might be a playroom today, a homework space tomorrow, and a crafting retreat years from now.

That's why we think beyond square footage. We design spaces that can adapt over time, helping a home support the changing rhythms of family life.

The most successful additions don't simply make a home bigger. They make it better equipped for the life unfolding inside it.

A well-designed bathroom should make your mornings easier.

The best spaces aren't necessarily the biggest or the most elaborate. They're thoughtfully planned around the people who use them every day—from the placement of the vanity and lighting to the storage that keeps everything within reach.

When the layout works, the room simply feels comfortable. That's the difference thoughtful design can make.

We design architecture around the people who live there.

For this home, entertaining was part of the vision from the very beginning. We worked closely with the homeowners to maintain the classical design and proportions while creating spaces that feel natural for gathering with family and friends.

Historical precedent guided every decision—not to recreate the past, but to make sure every detail feels authentic and timeless.

When the proportions are right, a home simply feels comfortable. That's thoughtful residential design.

A bedroom should feel calm long before your head hits the pillow.

That feeling doesn't happen by accident. It comes from thoughtful planning, balanced proportions, natural light, and materials that work together to create a sense of ease.

Here, expansive glass frames the mountain landscape like artwork, warm wood tones add depth, and a restrained palette allows the architecture to do what it does best: create a sense of calm.

When every detail has a purpose, the room doesn't compete for your attention. It invites you to slow down.

When classic design gets a fresh pop of color.

It's our belief that every home has a story to tell, and this one begins with a foundation of timeless design. Rich wood furnishings, classic architectural details, and layers of texture create a sense of warmth that's both inviting and enduring.

Then came the blue.

Not just as an accent, but as a thread woven throughout the home. It draws your eye from room to room, adds a fresh energy to the space, and brings a little personality to every corner. From the dining room walls to the carefully chosen textiles and accessories, each touch of color helps tell the story of the people who live here.

The result is a home that feels personal rather than trendy because the most memorable spaces aren't designed around what's popular today. They're designed around the people who call them home.

Streamline Moderne? Yep, Dallas has that.

With curved corners, horizontal lines, and sleek details inspired by the age of trains and ocean liners, Streamline Moderne homes brought a distinctly modern look to Dallas neighborhoods. While they're less common than Tudor, Craftsman, or Colonial Revival homes, they're an important part of the city's architectural story.

Whether your home is Mid-Century Modern, Spanish Colonial Revival, Streamline Moderne, or another style entirely, understanding its architectural roots can help guide renovation and addition decisions. The best projects don't start with changing everything—they start with understanding what makes a home unique.
