Let’s make a ring

This ring is made using a Red Oak veneer.
I boiled some water, soaked the veneer for 10 minutes, then formed the strip I cut around the ring til it dried.
Then with some sandpaper, super glue, and more patience then I can normally muster up,
we smooth out the bumps,
add some epoxy,
sand and buff.
And if we don’t make too many mistakes,
We make ourselves a hardwood inlayed ring.
This ring was a test, a place keeper for my fiancé’s ring.
To make sure I could do it cleanly.
I think it turned out pretty well for my first fully inlayed ring
The next one is going to be a knockout.

I’m still alive!! With this summer being so insanely hot, I have been taking a break from woodworking while I start a new job, and I can’t wait to get back in the shop!

I do all my woodworking in my 8x10 lawnmower shed so my 70s sears fan can only help so much. Eventually I will upgrade with a window unit of some sort but the shed also uses an extension cord ran out to it so I gotta figure all that out without causing problems.

This is a picture of my workplace, I do the social media and website for a tree farm out here and I love it!

I have some videos I still gotta edit so there will be a few posts coming out soon but hopefully by the end of September it’ll be cooler and I can get back to work!

One. Eternity. Later.
Don't worry I swapped the blade out after this...
Ripping boards is fairly new to me, as I've been making larger projects now I get to use methods I normally wouldn't need to use. With that being said this blade was swapped over to my miter saw and I put a lower tooth ripping blade on this after realizing how ridiculous this was.

Let’s make an Olive wood pipe! This one has a Padouk inlay and looks awesome! Just gotta let it cure!
