One of the best parts of what we do is seeing an idea move from sketch to rendering and finally into built form. Each step helps us work through proportion, material, and the relationship to the site before it becomes something you can walk through and experience.

Nature and architecture should never feel separate.

The architecture becomes quiet as it allows the land to remain part of the daily experience.

Light changes everything.

We’re always thinking about how natural light moves through space. How it shifts throughout the day, highlights materials, and creates a sense of warmth and connection to nature.

Even while a project is still under construction, you can begin to see how those moments begin to work.

In architecture, a parti model is a study of an idea. It holds the core intent and guides everything that follows.

My wife and I met in an architecture design studio, and 30 years ago, I gave her a cube I made as a proposal of marriage. Each piece was meant to represent something on its own, but also part of something larger. When the model is opened the peaces form other designs opportunities as the ring is revealed inside.

Life has evolved in ways we both couldn’t have imagined, but we’ve continued to build a life together, piece by piece, along with family, and the people close to us.

30 years later, the idea still holds true.
