GUIDE Architecture

GUIDE Architecture Principals:
Mark Criswell
Jason Turnbow GUIDE Architecture, LLC. These four principles shape the way we approach each unique project or design challenge.

was established in 2014 to provide comprehensive architectural planning, design, and documentation services with a focus on responsiveness, shared knowledge, client advocacy, and collaboration. Time is the most precious resource that anyone in the design and construction industry has, and we recognize that our ability to be immediately responsive to our clients, all of our clients, is paramount to

informed decisions being made in timely fashion. These decisions need to not only be made quickly, they need to be sound as well. Our multiple years of experience in all phases of design and construction allow us to confidently provide relevant information to the team. Ultimately, we deliver on our commitments and responsibilities. The principles of shared knowledge and client advocacy sometimes go hand in hand. We appreciate that our clients look to us to provide industry trends and technical expertise, but we also look to our clients for integral operational information that can improve the end product. We are not ego-driven architects; we will continue to learn and grow at every opportunity, and want to be able to share each of these operational and technical project drivers with our current and future clients. We measure success on a team scale, and always hold each other accountable. Our design process is informed by time spent with our clients and users that are critical to the success of each project. This doesn’t mean one meeting every two weeks, or a cursory walk of the existing conditions or operations. It means taking the necessary time for that particular project to uncover and document the real project drivers. We will always be honest with our assessments and feedback, and likewise have the expectation that our clients will be honest with us. Guide Architecture will be a collaborative partner on each and every project team we are a part of. This collaboration will extend from the Owner to contractors, subcontractors, consultants, vendors, and authorities having jurisdiction on our projects. We don’t pursue project opportunities, we pursue client opportunities, and therefore aim to maintain ultimate trust and respect with our partners. Collaboration is always about listening first; responses are secondary and should always be supportive and respectful. Every project will have its challenges and setbacks, but ultimately it’s about how we respond to these challenges that will determine how successful we are as a firm. Our three founding principals provide over 25 years of experience in the architecture field. We focus on healthcare, commercial, and industrial projects, with experience in the high-end residential market sector as well. Flexibility and comprehensive delivery expertise define our working styles. All staff are capable and have experience in performing multiple project responsibilities, allowing us to flex back and forth seamlessly as project schedules demand. Finally, working with GUIDE Architecture will be fun and enjoyable. We don’t take ourselves too seriously and always look for opportunities to share in team, project, and individual successes. We strive to work very hard, but we always make time for ourselves, our families, and our teams.
