That tree may not need to come down—it may just need the right person to look at it.

When a tree gets too close to the house, blocks more sunlight than you’d like, develops dead limbs, or simply looks like it’s gotten out of control, removal isn’t automatically the answer.

Sometimes proper pruning can solve the problem while keeping a beautiful, mature tree on your property. Other times, removal really is the safest or most practical option. The important part is knowing the difference.

That’s one reason the Georgia Forestry Commission recommends using a Certified Arborist for tree pruning and removal. Certified arborists are trained in tree identification, diagnosis, care, and safe tree work.

Sometimes the best tree work is the work that helps you KEEP the tree.

A tree doesn’t have to come down just because it’s gotten too big, too dense, or too close to the house. With the right pruning, you may be able to create clearance, remove dead or problematic limbs, improve the structure of the canopy, and keep the mature tree you already have.

And proper pruning matters. The Georgia Forestry Commission recommends regular pruning throughout a tree’s life to maintain clearance and remove dead or broken branches—and recommends using a Certified Arborist for pruning and removal work.
