With the FIFA World Cup capturing global attention this summer, we're excited to highlight a project helping grow the game right here in Dallas. RLG provided Civil Engineering, Surveying, and Platting services for the FIFA World Cup Legacy Campus at SMU's Washburne Stadium. The project transformed a former DART parking lot into a community-focused sports complex featuring two full-size soccer fields, three small-sided fields, pickleball courts, field lighting, storm sewer improvements, and more. Delivered from design to permit in just three months, this project showcases what can be accomplished through collaboration and a shared commitment to community investment.

Our annual Family Picnic was a great opportunity to bring together and celebrate the start of summer. With so many new faces joining RLG this year, from new hires to interns, it was the perfect chance to connect, strengthen relationships, and welcome everyone into the RLG family. From pickleball and co****le to Kan Jam and the water slide, there was something for everyone to enjoy. Team members and their families shared burgers, popsicles, and plenty of laughs throughout the afternoon. RLG Consulting Engineers provided Civil and Structural Engineering services for the Cedar Hill Library and Trail System, supporting the development of a 9-acre site that integrates the library, park, and trail network. Civil services included conceptual site planning, grading, drainage design, and utility coordination, including water and wastewater connections to serve the facility. RLG worked with the architect and City to establish design parameters, supported public meetings, and prepared site mapping and construction documents. The adjacent park features more than 5 acres of green space and includes a prefabricated pedestrian bridge over a creek, where RLG’s civil and structural teams coordinated the design of the bridge landings to align with retaining wall requirements and site conditions.

RLG provided structural engineering services for the new 67,000 square foot Round Rock Public Library, replacing the existing 43,000 square foot facility at East Main and Sheppard. Designed in partnership with PGAL, the expanded library supports enhanced services for children, teens, and adults, with dedicated program areas, meeting rooms, and flexible spaces for study and collaboration. The structure was designed to create open, adaptable interiors with increased access to natural light. RLG also designed concrete transfer girders to accommodate the building setback above the second floor, along with the adjacent parking garage structure. Distinct architectural features, including interior and exterior monumental staircases and a prominent roof element, were carefully coordinated within the structural system, contributing to a modern, functional space that serves as a long-term resource for the Round Rock community.

At RLG, our people are the foundation of everything we do. We are currently looking to add a Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) to our headquarters in Dallas.

This role will support a wide range of surveying and mapping services for both public- and private-sector projects across Texas within our Survey department, while coordinating closely with our other engineering teams. From boundary and topographic surveys to subdivision platting, this position plays an important role in helping bring projects to life.

We are looking for someone with strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, project management skills, and a collaborative mindset who is ready to make an impact while continuing to grow their career at RLG.

RLG provided civil engineering and surveying services for the rehabilitation of more than 11,000 linear feet of water distribution mains ranging from 8-inch to 24-inch diameter, along with 2,700 linear feet of sanitary sewer mains using both open cut and trenchless methods. The project also included full pavement rehabilitation for NW 27th Street and additional improvements along several surrounding roadways. RLG coordinated paving quantities with the Water Department, developed a corrosion protection plan for the 24-inch water main, and supported the integration of Safe Routes to School (SRTS) improvements. Services also included bidding support, construction administration, and preparation of record drawings.

RLG provided Structural, Civil, and Survey services for the design and construction of Coppell Fire Station No. 5 in Coppell, Texas. The 12,000 SF facility includes a three-bay apparatus area, ground-floor living quarters, a second-floor fitness room, and an ICC 500-compliant storm shelter integrated into the building. The structure combines structural steel framing with composite construction, load-bearing masonry, long-span steel joists, and a structural concrete floor, while the exterior blends masonry with cast stone veneer to reflect a classic fire station aesthetic. RLG also designed site improvements to support access and circulation, including parking, paving, and storm, water, and sanitary infrastructure. Our Survey services included topographic and improvement surveys, subdivision plat preparation, and coordination of access and utility easements to support project approval and development.
