Curb appeal gets the attention. Good planning makes it last.

The right plants, proper drainage, healthy soil and thoughtful placement all play a part in creating a landscape that works with your property, not against it.

A beautiful yard is great. A beautiful yard built to last is better.

🌿 Proudly serving the greater DFW area.

A landscape renovation doesn’t start with the pretty stuff. It starts with a plan.

We’re currently working on this project on Country Club Drive in Plano, taking it from design through demolition and into installation. This is the part of landscaping we don’t show often enough…the work that happens before the plants go in and everything gets cleaned up for that final photo.

Old material comes out. Beds are cleared and reshaped. Edging goes in. Irrigation is addressed. Piece by piece, the design starts becoming a landscape. We’ll share the finished project when we get there.

If your grass crunches when you walk across it, it’s officially August. 😂

The good news? A lot of the damage we see this time of year can be prevented with good planning, not just more water.

That’s what we enjoy sharing — real landscaping advice, real projects, and ideas that work in East Texas soil and brutal summers.

If that sounds like something you need, give us a call!

People usually notice the trees, stone borders and plants, but what they don’t see is often the most important part of the project. On this Lakewood Hills home, we installed more than 300 feet of solid drainage pipe, catch basins and a mechanical sump discharge before putting the finishing touches on the landscape.

The builder’s original landscaping wasn’t creating the welcoming entrance the homeowners envisioned, and the existing drainage could no longer keep up after construction next door changed how water moved across the property. Once the foundation was right, we added a charcoal Lueders stone border, a carefully selected plant palette, and a new tree to complement the home’s clean architecture.

Beautiful landscaping catches your eye. Great landscaping protects your investment.

Every home has its own personality. This modern home called for clean lines, muted colors and architectural plants instead of lots of flowers.

We chose charcoal Lueders stone, Kolorguard yucca, whale’s tongue agave and Carex grass to complement the home’s design rather than compete with it.

Good landscaping shouldn’t steal the show.It should make the home look even better.

Quick landscaping tip:
Don’t assume your builder’s landscaping is your forever landscaping.

Most builders install the minimum needed to finish the home. Once construction is complete, it’s a good time to look at drainage, plant placement, and curb appeal with fresh eyes. A few thoughtful changes can completely change the first impression your home makes.

Mosquitoes need one thing to multiply - standing water. It doesn’t take much. Even small areas of standing water can become breeding grounds after a rain.

The plants in your landscape can help, but good drainage is what makes the biggest difference. A landscape should be built to move water away, not hold it. Good grading and drainage doesn’t just protect your landscape; it helps make your outdoor space more enjoyable too.

Everything’s bigger in Texas…including the mosquitoes. While no plant is going to fully eliminate mosquitoes in your space, the right landscape can make it a little less inviting to them.

A few our favorites we use for mosquito repellants include:
• Lavender
• Rosemary
• Citronella grass
• Lemon balm
• Catmint

Good landscaping isn’t just about curb appeal; it’s also about creating an outdoor space you can actually enjoy even during those balmy summer months.

When homeowners think about landscaping, they usually picture plants. But sound, long-lasting landscaping starts much deeper than the plants you choose. Correct grading and drainage are imperative.

If you’re seeing water pooling during these storms we’ve had rolling through, it’s a sign. Solving these drainage problems before they become expensive repairs is one of the best investments you can make in your property.

The rain doesn’t create drainage problems. It shows you where your property is begging for help. Standing water, washed-out mulch, erosion, soggy lawns…without being addressed, it all leads to bigger and more expensive issues. A good landscape is designed to handle North Texas weather, not just sunny days.
