For 10 terrifying minutes, Sydney Moore did not know if her 4-month-old son was alive.

On December 9, 2023, an EF-3 tornado tore through Clarksville, Tennessee, with winds estimated at up to 150 mph.

Sydney was inside her family's mobile home with her fiance, Aramis Youngblood, and their two sons, 1-year-old Princeton and 4-month-old Lord.

Lord was asleep in a bassinet near the front of the home.

Then the roof came off.

Sydney said the tornado lifted the bassinet with Lord still inside. Aramis tried to grab it, but the storm picked him up too and threw him away from the home.

In another room, Sydney threw herself over Princeton as the walls collapsed around them.

She eventually managed to get herself and her older son out.

Then the search for Lord began.

For roughly 10 minutes, Sydney and Aramis searched through the wreckage in the pouring rain.

Finally, Aramis found him.

Lord was alive in a fallen tree about 25 feet from where the family's home had stood.

Sydney later described the spot as looking almost like a little cradle formed by the tree.

The family escaped with cuts and bruises.

Their home was gone.

But both children, and both parents, survived.
