What trends stood out at and Design Days 2026?

Corgan noticed three themes shaping the future of design: richer, more immersive color palettes; retro-futurist influences that blend nostalgia with contemporary design; and a renewed appreciation for natural materials, craftsmanship, and tactile experiences.

Together, these trends point toward workplaces that are more expressive and experiential.

Last week we hosted an open house at Corgan’s Boston office open house.

It was a pleasure welcoming clients, partners, friends, and neighbors into our space for an evening of connection, conversation, and celebration. From engaging office tours and inspiring discussions to meaningful reunions and new introductions, the event showcased the energy, creativity, and collaboration that make Boston’s design community so special.

As we continue our next chapter in Boston following Dyer Brown's transition to Corgan late last fall, it was especially meaningful to celebrate alongside the people and relationships that have helped shape our presence in the city.

A new chapter is taking shape at the University of St. Thomas .

With construction officially underway on a new student residence hall, the university is investing in the future of campus life. Designed to build community and support student success, the residence hall will provide a vibrant place for students to live, learn, and connect.

As architects of the new residence hall, Corgan as the prime architect working with the Lawrence Group is proud to partner with the University of St. Thomas to bring this vision to life and help shape the next generation of the student experience.

Last week, Corgan welcomed team members from across the globe for our summer Connections event — a two-day experience designed to immerse newer employees in the culture, people, and values that make Corgan unique.

From different cities, backgrounds, and disciplines, colleagues came together to build meaningful connections, share experiences, and collaborate from day one to begin building the relationships that will shape the future of our work.

Designing education facilities of the future requires deep-rooted experience and fresh vision. We’re thrilled to share four key leadership updates within Corgan’s Education practice that will drive our next chapter of regional growth and community impact.

Proven Leadership in New Places —
Sylvia Cancino and Lance Melton, two established leaders within the firm, are transitioning into new studio leadership roles that reflect their deep experience and our continued trust in their vision. Sylvia will lead our San Antonio Education studio, and Lance will spearhead our Austin Education studio. Their deep expertise and trusted client relationships perfectly position them to expand our Central Texas footprint while maintaining our commitment to exceptional project delivery.

We’re proud to welcome Ed Napier and Simon Martinez to Corgan. Ed joins as our Orlando Education studio lead, and Simon joins to lead our PK-12 practice in Atlanta. Designed for connection and recognized for excellence — Corgan’s Atlanta office expansion has received a Bronze Award from the Georgia Chapter of ASID for Offices under 10,000 square feet.

Designing our own workplace gave us the opportunity to create a space that reflects how we work best — fostering creativity, collaboration, and well-being while supporting our people in doing their best work every day.

Thank you to ASID Georgia for this recognition, and congratulations to the team whose vision, creativity, and dedication brought this space to life.

Two conversations, one goal: Design spaces that work better for people.

At The American Institute of Architects AIA26 conference, Corgan will present research and strategies shaping the future of the built environment:

Melissa Hoelting will share findings from Corgan—Hugo’s research supported by AIA's Upjohn Research Grant, Designing for Focus, which explores how workplace design can better support neurodiversity, productivity and well-being for employees.

Additionally, Melissa and Stephen Lohr will present Corgan’s latest multifamily research, Residency Reshaped, uncovering what residents actually look for in their homes, and how those insights are reshaping the future of residential design.
