A BIG severe weather event is *possible* in North Texas TONIGHT...

Here's the deal: Uncertainty is HIGH whether storms will fire up in North Texas or not. If they do, they'll begin near Abilene and Wichita Falls and move east. Any storms that can remain discrete or semi-discrete will pose a risk for strong tornadoes and very large hail. With that said, I would say the chances of this are still LOW at this time for North Texas, but they are much higher in Oklahoma.

The BEST chance for storms will be from 5pm-12am. Stay weather aware! The weather could change very quickly with today's environment.

**DFW ALERT** - A supercell has developed South of Fort Worth. This is moving northeast. Stay weather aware if you're in the metroplex.

If this storm is able to stay alive, large hail would be the main threat. Severe T-Storm Watch continues until 8pm.

Timing for storms!

Here is your SEVERE WEATHER TIMING for tonight 🚨

IMPORTANT NOTE: A few storms WILL fire up before these time frames. This 'timing guide' is for the more predictable linear line of storms that will develop later today.

A few storms will form this afternoon between now and 5pm, producing the threat for all modes of severe weather. A line of storms (which is what this timing is for) will develop mid-late afternoon and impact most of our region. That will primarily produce damaging winds, with a couple of embedded tornadoes being possible.

Stay weather aware today! Be safe!!!

🚨MODERATE RISK EXPANDS INTO NORTH TEXAS🚨

All of North & Central Texas should remain extremely vigilant this afternoon and evening as widespread severe thunderstorms are expected to develop with damaging winds, tornadoes, and large hail all possible.

The best chance for these storms in North Texas will be from 12-10pm. West of I-35w has the best chance through 7pm.

MAIN THREATS: Damaging Winds 60-85+ MPH, Large to Very Large Hail (1-3.5” Diameter)
SECONDARY THREAT: Few Tornadoes (Isolated strong tornado possible)

Not everyone will see severe weather to be clear, but we have a higher chance than usual to see some severe storms. HAVE MULTIPLE WAYS to receive alerts today.

I WILL BE LIVE AND POSTING WARNINGS at some point today, but you should NOT just rely on me. Have other ways to receive warnings.
