Did you know that many "window companies" are really sales organizations? In my industry there are many window providers that are really tools for salesmen to make commissions and when it comes to window installation, follow through and long term satisfaction, they fail miserably. Here was a Next Door post on the subject today. Just find a good window guy you trust, and a good window. The commissions, the showrooms, the advertising and all the mark up do not bring value to your home window replacement project. The big name just means they spent a lot to get advertising. You pay for all of that.

Pause... so... the $1000 window is now $600 plus you get a free one so that's two for $600? No folks, it doesn't work that way. This is the promotion because the window starts at $4000. That's just silly. Don't overpay. My comparable window is 25% the cost of their $4000 window. I saw a quote last year for $250,000 that our comparable quote was $57,000. You think they're better because of all the advertising. Advertising does not make better windows or a better install.

Removing an aluminum builders grade window. This is the right way to install a new vinyl window where an aluminum builders grade window is now. There are several approaches to this but I think this is one of the better ones.
