Golden Empire Roofing & Construction recently completed a 13,000 sq ft roof renovation at Queens College's Gertz Hall, spanning two roof levels. The project featured a complete tear-off and installation of a sloped Siplast Paradiene® system engineered to optimize drainage, strengthen the building envelope, and provide long-term waterproofing.

Jim Kirby, AIA, shares his insights for high-performance building solutions in our latest blog.

A high-performance enclosure relies on four continuous control layers: water, air, thermal, and v***r. An Air and Water-Resistive Barrier (AWB) combines two of them into a single layer, minimizing unwanted air movement and reducing on-site labor while transitioning cleanly into the roofing and waterproofing systems around it.

When these systems work together, buildings are better equipped to meet energy efficiency requirements.
