Most people think painting is quick. It’s not.

What you’re seeing here is the part almost nobody talks about. Sanding, cleaning, filling imperfections, sanding again, and priming. This is what actually determines how the final result will look and how long it will last.

The paint itself is the fastest step. The prep is where the quality comes from.

Hey y’all, Gabriel with Color Unlimited Painting here in Dallas, TX.
Wanted to walk you through this Highland Park project where we had to prep the walls to a Level 5 drywall finish before installing high-end wallpaper. Most people don’t realize that premium wallpaper shows every imperfection underneath — every seam, screw head, and joint compound ridge. That’s why we skim coated the entire surface, sanded it smooth, and primed before a single strip went up.
This is the kind of prep work that separates a quality install from one that starts peeling and bubbling in six months. If you’ve got a wallpaper project in mind, we’d love to take a look!

We just wrapped up this custom project and had to share it! 🎨
These floor-to-ceiling solid oak built-in cabinets were finished with a custom color-matched blue stain, hand-applied to bring out the natural wood grain and sealed with a clear coat for lasting protection. The client had a specific shade of blue in mind and we worked closely with her to get it exactly right.
Then we took this bamboo-style desk that was custom built right into the wall and spray-finished it on site with multiple coats of high-gloss orange lacquer, then hand-buffed it to a smooth, mirror-like shine.
