Picture this: gorgeous kitchen island, perfect lighting, dream finishes. Two people try to open the fridge and the dishwasher at the same time and it's suddenly a hostage negotiation.That's a circulation problem. And it never shows up on paper.Circulation is just how people move through a space but it's the difference between a room that flows and one that fights you every day.The tells are usually small:โ†’ You walk in and immediately have to detour around somethingโ†’ Two people can't pass each other without the awkward shuffleโ†’ A door swings open into the exact spot you need to standNone of that reads on a 2D plan. A 3-foot walkway and a 4-foot walkway look basically the same as two parallel lines on paper. Stand in one versus the other and the difference is obvious in about two seconds.That's the gap between designing a room and living in it.Walk it at full scale, and the bottlenecks stop being theoretical. You feel them before you've poured a single foundation.Good design should look great and move naturally. Test the layout before you build it.

Where will people walk?
How much room will the furniture take?
Does the layout feel open or cramped?
