A linear site requires clarity. Every line, proportion, and transition must be carefully considered.⁠

For The Linear Garden, we used the geometry of the architecture and the constraints of the site to establish a clear organizing structure. Long sightlines extend the perception of space, repeated forms create rhythm, and planting softens the geometry without obscuring it. The pool, gathering areas, circulation, and garden are composed as interconnected parts rather than individual features.⁠
⁠
The goal is not to disguise the proportions of the site. It is to use proportion, sequence, and restraint to create a landscape that is intentional, cohesive, and grounded in its architecture.⁠

At Plein Air Atelier, the collection continues to evolve through pieces chosen for material, proportion, craftsmanship, and character—furnishings and objects considered not only on their own, but for how they contribute to the composition as a whole.⁠

The role of a designer is not simply to resolve what is asked, but to recognize what the site makes possible.⁠
⁠
The Pattern House began with a clear direction. We studied it against the architecture, the character of the property, and the way the landscape would be experienced—and saw an opportunity to take the design further.⁠
⁠
The resulting concept was not a departure from the original idea, but an expansion of it: more responsive to the architecture, more grounded in place, and more considered in the way the spaces relate and unfold.⁠
⁠
Good design doesn’t replace an idea. It reveals its full potential.

Our concept for The Pattern House establishes a stronger spatial order. The pool extends the geometry of the architecture into the landscape, gathering spaces are held in close relationship to the house, and layers of planting create enclosure while preserving openness and views.⁠

Together, these decisions give the landscape clarity, structure, and a natural relationship to the architecture.

A container should feel integral to the landscape, not placed upon it.⁠
⁠
At the Southern Living Idea House in Fredericksburg, form, scale, and material were considered in relationship to the architecture and the character of the Hill Country. The containers introduce rhythm while allowing planting to soften the transition between built form and landscape.⁠
