Few people at GBR have worked across as many levels of the construction industry as Miguel Estrada.

Over more than 30 years, Miguel has progressed from fieldwork into management, served as CEO of a construction company, and gained experience across residential, commercial, and industrial projects. For the past 14 years, his work has focused specifically on the industrial sector.

Today, Miguel serves as GBR’s Chief Advisory Officer and Senior Project Manager. As a certified Project Management Professional, he helps our teams navigate operational challenges, manage project costs, and make informed decisions based on decades of practical experience.

Miguel also takes pride in mentoring others and building trusted client relationships. One of his proudest accomplishments has been earning the confidence of two major plant organizations that selected GBR for their roofing needs.

What Miguel values most is the team behind the work. He believes people are GBR’s greatest asset, and that shared purpose is what allows the company to deliver for its clients.

Some of the most important work on a roof happens in conversation.

These moments with our GBR crew highlight an essential part of industrial roofing: staying connected in the field. Discussing site conditions, clarifying the next steps, and giving people room to ask questions help turn a project plan into coordinated work.

For facility teams, that coordination matters. Roofing work needs to account for the people, equipment, and operations around it.

Checking heat advisories is a starting point. On the roof, sunlight, humidity,, and physical effort all affect the crew’s heat exposure. Conditions can require action even when no advisory is in effect.

Ongoing checks help inform when to move demanding tasks, increase cooling breaks, or adjust the pace. For GBR, that attention belongs in the same conversation as the work itself.

Justin Roberts brings more than 20 years of field and leadership experience to his role as GBR’s Business Development Director. His understanding of the industries GBR serves comes from working alongside the people responsible for keeping demanding projects moving safely and efficiently.

Justin began his career shortly after high school as a welder’s helper, laborer, and fire watch. He went on to work in oil fields, construction, and refineries before advancing into DOT compliance and safety management roles. Those experiences gave him a practical understanding of jobsite demands, operational priorities, and the importance of earning trust through consistent performance.

Justin later served as GBR’s Corporate Safety Director. In that role, he co-led the company’s nomination for the IBR/HASC SEA Awards, contributing to GBR’s recognition as Best in Class and Newcomer of the Year in 2025, and also winning best in class in 2026 at the CSA awards in Louisiana.

Today, Justin applies that perspective to business development. He listens closely to clients, works to understand the needs of each facility, and helps connect those needs with GBR’s roofing and waterproofing capabilities.

He knows that strong relationships are built through responsive communication, honest conversations, and following through on commitments.

A well-planned roofing project starts with how people get to the roof.

The scaffold stair tower shown here highlights an important part of industrial roof planning: establishing a designated access route for site walks, roof assessments, repairs, and replacement work.

When properly installed and inspected, scaffold stairs support repeated access throughout a project. Planning their placement also means considering the roof entry point, pedestrian routes, and nearby facility operations.

In an active industrial facility, successful roofing work starts with understanding everything happening around it.

Access points, equipment, material staging, pedestrian routes, ongoing operations, and site-specific safety requirements all have to be considered before the work moves forward.

That coordination matters. A well-planned project helps our crews work efficiently while minimizing disruption to the facility and maintaining the safety standards these environments demand.
