🐜 We found WHAT in a mailbox?!

If you guessed that pavements ants moved into someone's mailbox and made it a home, you'd be correct! 📬

Pavement ants are one of the most common ants we see. While they're usually found under sidewalks, driveways, and foundations, they're opportunistic, and this mailbox was the perfect hidden shelter.

Termite swarmer season is here! If you are not sure of the difference between ant and termite swarmer's, here is a graphic we made a few years ago showing the difference. Termites will have a broader waist, straight antennae and all four wings will be equal in size. Flying ants on the other hand will have a pinched waist in the middle, elbowed antennae and the front wings will be longer than the hind wings. Termites swarm in Northeast Ohio normally from late March to the end of May. Winged ants can show up at any time of the year, but springtime and the dog days of summer are the most common. If your still not sure what exactly you are dealing with, save a sample and call 234-571-1203 and we can help identify what you have at your home.
