On May 25, 2026 — the 40th anniversary — we're doing it again.

HERE'S THE THING ABOUT 1986,
The original Hands Across America formed a chain across specific cities along a specific route. If you didn't live near that route, you were left out. Not this time.
This version belongs to everyone, everywhere.
No route. No required chain. No travel required.

What Is Hands Across America? Hands Across America was a nationwide charity event that took place on May 25, 1986. On that day, an estimated 6.5 million people joined hands to form a human chain stretching across the United States, from New York City to Long Beach, California.
