Congratulations, Lila Shaw!

Cushing ISD and the Cushing FFA Chapter proudly congratulate Lila Jean Shaw on earning the Texas FFA Lone Star Degree, one of the most prestigious accomplishments in agricultural education.

The Lone Star Degree is the highest degree of membership awarded by the Texas FFA Association at the state level. This honor recognizes FFA members who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, commitment to agricultural education, involvement in their chapter, and success in their Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) programs. Recipients must meet rigorous requirements in academics, leadership, agricultural coursework, and community involvement.

Lila's dedication, hard work, and passion for agriculture have distinguished her among FFA members across Texas. Earning the Lone Star Degree reflects years of commitment and represents a significant milestone in her FFA journey.

We are incredibly proud of Lila and her accomplishments and look forward to seeing all she achieves in the future.

Congratulations from Jackson Distributors to all the graduating seniors of 2026 - but especially to these three Jackson Distributors family members!! We are so proud of these very special young people and know they all have great futures ahead! Oklahoma Wesleyan University, University of Texas and the United States Navy will be lucky to have you!

A reminder from back in 2021 that still applies this week!!

Just a friendly reminder from the pump man during these record-breaking cold temperatures: if you are not on city water & depend on a water well - if your water does freeze, be sure to turn off the electricity to your pump!! When it all thaws out, turn it on & MAKE SURE it is pumping water. If it is not, turn the electricity back off immediately. You could not only lose your pump, but you could also lose the whole well. Hope you all are staying safe & warm! Our thoughts & prayers are with all those utility workers braving the elements this week!!
