💧 Water Line Leak? Don’t Ignore the Signs.

This customer called us this morning after discovering a leak on the polyethylene water line near their water meter. We were on-site the same day to make the repair and get their water service back to normal.

How do you know if the leak is on your side of the meter?
✔️ Turn off all the water inside your home.
✔️ Check your water meter. If the leak indicator is still moving, chances are the leak is somewhere between the meter and your home—and that’s typically the homeowner’s responsibility.

Common signs of a water line leak:
🔹 An unusually high water bill
🔹 Soggy or muddy spots in your yard
🔹 Water pooling near the meter
🔹 Low water pressure
🔹 The sound of running water when everything is turned off

Catching a water line leak early can save you hundreds—or even thousands—in wasted water and prevent bigger problems down the road.

If you think you have a leak, give us a call. We’re here to help.

🚨 Don’t Wait Until Your Water Heater Floods Your Home. 🚨

This longtime Hometown Plumbing & Septic customer noticed water leaking from their water heater into the basement. Thankfully, they caught it before it became a much bigger (and much more expensive) problem.

There was one challenge: the old tank-style water heater was tucked into a tight closet with HVAC equipment, making it virtually inaccessible. Our team was able to safely remove the old unit and install a Rinnai tankless water heater in its place—giving them more hot water, more space, and one less thing to worry about.

💧 Here’s something many homeowners don’t realize:
Today’s traditional tank-style water heaters typically last only 6–8 years, depending on water quality, maintenance, and usage. Once they begin to fail, they can dump 40–50 gallons of water into your home before you even know there’s a problem.

Why wait for that to happen?

✅ Endless hot water
✅ More energy efficient
✅ Frees up valuable space
✅ Longer lifespan than traditional tank water heaters
✅ Eliminates the risk of a 50-gallon tank suddenly emptying into your home

If your water heater is approaching the 6-year mark, now is the time to start planning—not after you’re standing in a puddle of water.

Thinking about making the switch to a Rinnai tankless water heater? We’d be happy to answer your questions and see if your home is a good fit.

Not every septic tank is easy to find!

This customer called us out for a routine septic tank pumping, but first we had to locate the tank. Because it was buried much deeper than normal, finding it took a little extra time and effort. Once we located it, we got it pumped out and everything taken care of.

💧 Regular septic maintenance is one of the best ways to avoid costly repairs and messy backups. Even if your tank is hard to access, we have the equipment and experience to get the job done right.

Need your septic tank pumped or aren’t even sure where it’s located? Give Hometown Plumbing & Septic a call today at 678-598-6528.

🚨 Don’t ignore a lift station alarm! 🚨

This customer called us late in the evening after their lift station alarm started going off. We were on-site the very next morning to diagnose the issue, make a repair plan, and get to work.

We replaced the failed lift station pump and had everything back up and running quickly.

A lift station alarm is your system’s way of telling you something is wrong. If you ignore it, there’s a good chance you’ll end up with sewage backing up into your home—and nobody wants that. If your alarm starts sounding, don’t wait. The sooner it’s addressed, the better your chances of avoiding a messy (and expensive) cleanup.

If your lift station alarm goes off, give us a call. We’re here to help.

When your sewer backs up, waiting isn’t an option.

This customer called us on Saturday after their sewer line began backing up. We were there Sunday morning to get the line unclogged and run a camera inspection. The camera revealed the real problem—a broken sewer line beneath the driveway.

By Monday, our crew was back on-site making the necessary repairs. We also coordinated the concrete replacement so the driveway will be restored once the plumbing work was complete.

That’s the difference when you call a company that handles the job from start to finish. Fast response, the right equipment to diagnose the issue, quality repairs, and help coordinating the final restoration.

If you’re dealing with slow drains, sewer backups, or suspect a broken sewer line, don’t wait until it gets worse.

Sometimes it’s your neighbors who save the day.

Today’s call started when the neighbors smelled natural gas and immediately called 911. Once the area was made safe, we found the problem—a gas line to the pool heater had developed a large hole just below the surface.

Our team replaced the damaged gas line and got everything back in safe working order.

If you ever smell gas, don’t ignore it. Leave the area immediately, call 911 and your gas utility, then give us a call once it’s safe for repairs.

🚨 When your drains start backing up, don’t wait. The longer you do, the bigger the problem can become.

This homeowner’s septic system was so old that the county didn’t even have records of it. After sewage began backing up into the home, they gave us a call.

Here’s how we handled it:
🔹 Responded the very next morning
🔹 Pumped the septic tank to provide immediate relief
🔹 Evaluated the system and provided a quote for replacement
🔹 Pulled all required permits
🔹 Once the permit was approved, we installed their brand-new septic system the very next day

Fast response. Honest recommendations. Quality work done right the first time.

If your drains are slow, gurgling, or backing up, don’t ignore the warning signs. Give Hometown Plumbing & Septic a call today at 678-598-6528. We’re here when you need us.

Sometimes, the first step in bringing an old family home back to life starts underground.

This homeowner inherited his grandfather’s house and was ready to begin renovations, but before the county would issue a building permit, the existing septic system had to be replaced.

Our crew installed a brand-new septic system, getting the property one step closer to becoming a home again. It’s not always the part of the project people see, but it’s one of the most important.

If you’re buying, inheriting, or renovating a property and need septic work, give Hometown Plumbing & Septic a call. We’ll help you get it done the right way.
